Multi Level Marketing

Hi there.

Have you ever had a friend or colleague wanted to share a wonderful new business with you that will make you a lot of money.  Then you find out that for you to succeed you have to pay to join,  and then recruit  your acquaintances and friends to do the same.  And on it goes. A pyramid scheme in disguise

with something to sell like a holiday club or weight loss product, but the real earner is getting  a tree growing with those below you paying to make the top of the tree ( masterminds) rich.   It is a known fact that 75 percent of those who join mlm schemes make nothing.  It is the greatest ways to lose friends in my opinion, as those who get sucked in become obsessed with it and will do anything to get new paying members.

Your thoughts please fellow nomads.  Daz

Daz. Yep agree. I was always told never go into business with friends or relations.

Never got caught but had plenty of people back about 15 years ago trying to get me to sell house cleaning products in a pyramid scheme. The key word was "networking". Always gets me that women get sucked in with part-plan stuff (tupperware, makeup, shoes, clothes & the likes). Men don't. Ever been invited to a party plan for CUB, Jim Beam or Ryobi? I haven't.

My business venture was selling PC stuff at weekend computer markets back in the 1990s. Retailing is a cut-throat business.
An importer was buying a container load of items on pallets with items costing $1 (just an example).
A Wholesaler was buying a pallet of the item at $1.50ea.
A Retailer (me) was buying a carton at $2.00 ea and selling at $2.50ea.
Then suddenly the Wholesaler set up a stall selling at $1.80ea.
The Wholesaler then offered to sell me his remaining stock at $1.80ea and leave.
