Many people are complaining that Christmas treats etc, are already on sale at the supermarkets. Get a life naysayers, life is too short to be a Grinch.
We think it's great as it is giving us an opportunity to make up some Christmas hampers for family and friends - It is a great way of making up small thank you bundles for those that have helped during the past year, ie carers, meals on wheels driver, senior cits driver, postman to name a few.
We even have some little ones in production for a few nice Nomads we will be meeting up with.

Fathers day is over, next promotion is Xmas followed closely by back-to-school catalogues. Then as soon as back-to-school is over, out comes Easter stuff and on it goes. We just buy ourselves or each other stuff that we need and call it a gift closest to a birthday, xmas, easter, mothers day etc. It's nice when you go to buy something that you need that it's on special for some occasion.
My mother calls the catalogues (supermarkets too) her comics and reads them more like a shopping list than a gift catalogue as we do too. I'm happy with that.
Why not just have the things on sale all year round? That way there will be no festivities, no packed carparks, no rushes and we can have Christmas on Anzac Day or Easter on Remembrance Day, the possibilities are endless. And with the growing number of local councils stopping the celebration of Australia Day, perhaps it is time to forget the meaning of such things and enjoy treats all year round! I am not a naysayer, but realistically, we are pandering to the Supermarkets psychological ploys of buying when they want us to. Ask why a certain item becomes unavailable in your supermarket but you can buy it 5kms away in the same supermarket chain? Deleted as it is computer controlled to maximise profits. Another item, totally different, takes it's place. Christmas stuff is not available in our area yet because it is not profitable enough yet. One thing for sure, when it does enter the Supermarket, I will not be buying any of it, I would rather save my coins now and spend money on smaller, better quality stuff!
There, I have digressed enough and Merry Whatever!

What's the point of this thread? I have not seen anyone on the forum complaining. Why bring it up?

Just a comment / observation in "I digress....". Life is too short to be a Grinch
Now I feel like I'm missing out on something I haven't seen a single Xmas tree or even an Easter egg in the supermarkets in Oman since I got here.......till you brought it up I wasn't even aware that I was upset about it
