North Korea

Well  What is the solution  on how to deal with the big kid. dope or whatever from North Korea who is holding the world to ransom.??

Does the US drop a big fire cracker on him first or do we wait to see and see what he does.  Your thoughts on a solution please.

Cheers  Daz

Certainly not a first strike Dazz. Certainly easier to be "gung ho" living here rather than if we lived in Seoul!

What would YOU do?

And look what happened to DPRK from the thirties to 1953. Curtis Le May made what Goering did to UK look like a light fall of Hail. Slick Willie for all his shortcomings pretty much had the "How do you solve a problem like Korea" nut cracked till the Bush neocons stepped back from the brink of Peace and Prosperity.

Kim is very much a rational actor.

I just think the Yanks should back off and stop their war-games and sabre rattling and then see what the North does. Yanks are alway do what we say, not what we do.

I had two trips to Seoul in the 1980s, first time with wife & kids. It was a scary place then. Military exercises of various sizes most nights. Had to sit in the hotel in the dark whilst was games were played in the streets.

On second trip I had an evening on the US base which was just as scary. All I had left in my pockets was a hankie. Had to hand over passport, wallet, hotel keys etc.

Was in a airport guest lounge with a Korean who asked where I cam from. When I replied Australia, he said I was lucky. Australia is the only continent with no international borders, Can travel all over the country without being stopped by military and/or police. Best country in the world. Never looked at it that way before.

Same guest lounge a Japanese asked which city I came from. I replied Melbourne. He replied "Ah Melbourne" (as the Japanese do). He then asked where I was going. Seoul I said. His reply "Ah Seoul" broke me up.

What would I do.  I do not know the right answer

Very hard to make a decision which is going to cost 1000s or millions of lives.  History in the long term will dictate what should have been done.

I think if Kim lets one go in the first place it will be on for young and old.

Even more bizarre.....Putin is our current Peacekeeper....the voice of reason....'they will eat grass rather than capitulate'.........therefor we have to wait until 'that crazy fat kid'.....literally blows himself up....which he inevitably will.....or face an imminent Military Coup at the hands of his own Generals on behalf of the starving/malnourished NK ordinary people/pawns with much subversive assistance by the Chinese......Hoo Roo..

Difficult decision for Trump: do you drop a nuke on him and hope you got him before he can fire off his missiles, or do you wait and see if he fires his missiles off first. If either of these two scenarios were to be realised it won't affect the US too much, but Japan, China, South Korea and Russia will be affected, if not from the blast then certainly from the fallout.

Of course one has to look at the start of all this: who is to say the US, Australia, England, whoever has the right to decide whether North Korea should become a nuclear power or not. England, France, China, Russia, America, Pakistan, India and probably a few others have a nuclear capability, will one or two more make a difference. Factor into that, America is the only nation that has actually used a nuclear weapon, so who are they to dictate.

You could say it ended WW2 and perhaps the Japanese got what they asked for, the fact remains, the US is the only nation that has ever used them, do they then have a moral right to decide who should be a nuclear power?

Personally, I think Trump should be the bigger man, stop his childish rhetoric and set up a face to face meeting with Dim Dom Dum and work on a solution. NK like China want to be recognised as a world player - recognise them, accept them, offer them a place with the UN security council, throw in some sweeteners, anything is better than a nuclear war...

I believe Dim Dom Dum's ultimate aim is to reunite with SK, obviously with Dim Dom Dum as it's leader/ruler/dictator - that of course is not acceptable, but a compromise must be brokered, cease fires simply do not work! They say the war ended in 1953, it didn't, open hostilities simply ceased.

Wars should always finish with an ultimate winner, thousands, millions will of course die, but without that, hostile feelings will fester and thousands, millions will continue to die. Obviously war is not something anyone wants, but as long as we infest this planet we will continue to war against each other - like it or not, it is our nature... History will attest to that!

I wouldn't be in Trump's shoes for all the tea in China, or Korea for that matter, whichever way he goes history will not not be kind to him.

Why doesn't the US send Jason Bourne, Jack Reacher and 007 over to solve the problem?

 007 works for the queen.

Dont forget Rambo and Clark Kent.

Roger the Dodger would definitely disrupt things over in North Korea.

Joking aside, some day some mad bugger is going to destroy the world.

I read or heard that countries behave like this, to divert their own people away from internal issues. It is possible that things are very bad in that country, and what we see are just the military dressed up as civilians looking very happy etc. etc. but if you remember a while ago that an American student was sent home from North Korea, completely mind numbed and died shortly after getting home, perhaps he had seen too much.

I am also very suspicious of anything that China or Russia say, again I read that for communism too work, it has to be world total. So who's to say that those two are not behind all of this and Kimmy is just a pawn.

Remember it is China upsetting countries in the pacific, and building airfields out of re-claimed islands.

North Korea (Kim) sounds a bit like the movie where a small country declared war on the US hoping to lose so that the US would re-build their economy.

Always wise to remember also, we rely on the media for our news - not the most reliable source when it comes to truth! But I guess we'll find out what's really going if it starts getting really hot in Sydney.

Two chances of being allowed into Mr Turnbull's bunker! We are unimportant, fodder if you like. As long as our leaders are safe that's all that matters. Does make you wonder though, when all us unimportant folk have been fried up, who's going to fight the wars they start?

Maybe Abbot can then be of some use, he was a boxer in college and reportedly laid out Hockey.   That's good - right???

That's no good, once they have disposed of each other they'll only be replaced by us; unfortunately, we're all the same, a disease on this planet!

I did a bit of a stink in South Korea and found it a very nice place! although the food is not to my Liking. It scared me a bit seeing the general population so intent of improving their place in the world and working tirelessly together to achieve that. It helped if people there knew you were from Australia and not America.

While there I adopted a 100 day old baby girl. South Korea does not have government social support at all. So those in crisis are left to there own means. 25 years later she is working in the U.K. and is an engineer working on building a runway.

She has been the love of my life. Exspensive support paid by me for most of her life but not really a consideration when I see the reward.

The students of South Korea are free thinking and collectively a powerful group, it's a country that we will hear more about as it developes In the future.

The best thing that S Korea can do while in this crisis is let its own people decide their own progress without any outside  interference.

Love my girl!

'No social support" it's up to the oldest son to look after elderly parents. Hence few of them, if any, end up married because of the liability. No son, no support.

Turn off every source of Power, oil, and limit supply. The people within, will do the rest. China has to play its part.

Do you think the USA can not see what is going on in there back yard.

They followed all these other rats, back to there holes around the world.

History will repeat itself, again, and again.

If this guy hits just one innocent country or domestic plane for that matter. There will be an orchestrated  response from the world as a whole.

He and his goons will be hunted down and tried for Genocide. The people of North Korea are under a dictator who kills his own people, and kills his own family members.nonono

Let the world live in peace.

Best cure for the little fat yella fella.
Is one of those Above ground exploding Nuke's.
Wipe out the people. leave the ground alone.

It's not the planets fault us idiots exist on it.

Maybe even everybody shoot a couple off together. Wipe out the whole of the Virus (us) on the planet.

Coupla million yrs she can start again. Without the burden of humans, hey.

Probably getting rid of the N Korean aggressives, and starting all over there again.
Would be the better choice.

Second time round.
They'd look at what happened to him and his.
AND MAYBEEeee. Just not start anything so stupid again.
.

The rest of the world could then help South to expand. and integrate with whoever is left.

What we need.
Is a space station up there.
with a coupla BIG Deterrants in there.
Controlled by the appointed spokesmen of, sayy. 20 world leaders.

Somebody plays up. Show of hands. Poof. All gon. Next?.

That's all these idiots understand it seems.
