I have been giving a lot of thought to what Pete and Marion suggested, so I have decided to start posting the rebuild of my old industrial van. It's going to take a bit of time and I will probably make a few mistakes during the process so I am happy with a bit of creative criticism, ideas and/or suggestions.
Bare in mind I will be building this van for when I am touring but it will have to be strong for when I take it into the bush as I am an avid prospector as well. The first lot of pictures are of the interior when I purchased the van, I am now slowly gutting the interior at the moment to see how bad the water damage has affected the steel frame work. If it is really bad I will more than likely do as much as I can at my residence then rent a unit so I can remove the exterior cladding, then unbolt the roof and wall frames and have them and the chassis sand blasted and coated then put it back together.
So the adventure begins.

as you can see I am gutting the van and ripping out some of the water damaged wall paneling just to have a look. As you probably are aware more often than not you would be dismantling the van in reverse to the way it was built by removing the external cladding first, in this case so the roof/wall frames can be unbolted and removed as they were built on the ground and stood up into position. I will remove as much as possible to save on the cost of renting a shed/unit to do the major work.
