It was all over face-ache last week that daylight savings ended last Saturday. Both wife & a friend fell for it. Had to do a lot of convincing otherwise. face-ache (like New Idea) is apparently the font of all knowledge, even overrides official Government info.

Was it 'The Goodies' who had an alien spaceship using Stonehenge as a refuelling station while Grahame(?) was holding forth, dismissing the superstitions of Stonehenge?

The reason we don,t have daylight saving in QLD is it will fade the curtains, and the cows will be disoriented by the extra hour of sunshine, or so Joh Bjelke Peterson reckoned...... He also said Don,t you worry about that......

Bank you hours of daylight savings  to use  in the winter months. That would be great for the people in southern Australia.

Then all the Victorians would have no need to invade the north in the winter.  "LOL"

We don't get that problem in the West but when the Vic's come over they think they can play footie, like it's watching a mobile circus.smile

Just about everything Qld Joe came up with about daylight saving was rubbish was. However fading the carpet (not curtains) was true.

A little old lad (somewhere in Vic) used open her curtains very morning at 6:00 am and close them when the sun went down every day of the year, therefore exposing her carpets to an extra hour of sunshine over daylight saving period. CSIRO supposedly confirmed this was what she was doing hence her claim that the extra hour of sunshine was fading her carpet was true.

Old Indian saying
Only a white man would cut 2 inches off one end of his blanket and then sew it on the other and think he had a longer blanket.

The states that want daylight saving should have 25 hour clocks, that would give them an extra hour in the day.

Sssh about solar, there is the risk at least one big spending political party would move to commodify sunlight (remember water is now being charged by the litre!).  Then there would be a new 'QANGO', a public bureaucracy with dozens of inspectors, all charged with the responsibility of collecting more taxes to elevate the status, remuneration and entitlements of the fat cat at the top.
