Leo, Personal opinion for comfort Sheepskin covers are the ultimate, If Full sheepskin are beyond the budget the stitched panel of sheepskin with synthetic surrounds are next best. I believe both Super Cheap and Auto-one have Easter specials on at the moment.

I try to enjoy the upholstery the car came with, so ordinarily don't have covers on. However I bought a set of the tragically named "Wet and Wild" neoprene seat covers from the local auto store. They are a fitted cover, but I only pull them over the seat when I'm dirty or have wet shorts. They are lasting OK... though the driver's one is a bit crinkly, probably because I had it scrunched up in a bag in the hot boot.

Original covering and Grandkids don't mix. You cannot vacuum kids and dogs, remove all sand and other sticky, crunchy and yukky - seat covers are much easier to clean. It's a bit hard to put the entire front or back seat of a 200 series in the washing machine.

Thanks for comments. The problem I have is that the seams on the original front seats heep letting go at the seams. I was hoping that neoprene might be a robust solution that would stay in place. However neoprene is likely to be hot and sticky.

Possum3,

Thank you, I will check out the sheepskin sales. I only need the front covers.

Check face.  book out. Look for a group that is about your car eg land ruiser owners then put a search for neoprene seat covers. My particular group for the ford everest has lots of postings about where they got their neoprene covers from and most people are very happy. Usually custom fiited.good luck.

Ive got neoprene seat covers on my Amarok and had them on the car prior to that as well and find them excellent (I do kayak tours and regularly sit on the seat while wet). I have not found them to be hot and sticky, but find them pretty comfy, not as comfy as lambswool I guess, but they do protect your seats from everything.
The ones in my Amarok are from Global Automotive - they advertised on a forum I was on. They have a Facebook page and I think you can order through that.

 Hakka,

Thank you for that.  A cheap alternative is appreciated.
