A very informative view on the trucking industry

I hope many will find this interesting and informative.

It runs for a bit over 50 minutes but may help the general motoring public understand the transport industry and the commentary is provided by two great representatives with first hand knowledge and experience.

Caravanners and Nomads in general get a few mentions.

Thanks for posting that.

It gives a great look into the life on the road of truckies & some of the things that they have to deal with on a daily basis.

Perhaps it will make us pause & think a bit on how our presence will impact on them when we pull in to a shared roadside rest area.

Gee that Ron H? the truckie does a lot of good work.

 Thank you Cupie,

i am glad that you, first up, took the time to listen to the stream and that you appreciate the work that many do to make the industry a better place and also the many people that try to work constructively with the caravan and motor home fraternity so that we may all be able to co survive with each other in an amicable and conducive environment.

Yes the're are many within the trucking industry that realise that being able to work along side of other motorists, including us GN's is so important to the well being of all.

It may take time but lets place faith in the people that are trying to improve the situation for everyone..

It sure as hell backs up everything I have posted on here over the last few years.....and I hope it helps even just one person to treat these people with respect. I did it for nearly 50 years on and off ....and now I,m doin wot every one else on here does....so I see from time to time the best and worst of both caravanners and truckies....but hopefully this will ease up on everyone with a bit of knowledge.....coz sure as hell is hot ....there is gunna be more on the roads as years go by.

So folks...remember that a truckie is at work....and give em some space.....and GET a UHF ....TURN IT ON and listen....and even TALK to them.....99% of them don't bite Hey...............

Cheers  Keith

Yep, it was a good listen. The amount of red tape that industry has to put up with these days is quite rediculous.

Congratulations to the ABC for hosting such an informative and accurate show.

My hubby and I retired now but we were both involved in the transport industry over many years.
It is people like these two that are doing so much for the betterment of the industry in general.

We both enjoyed the listen and thank you to Dickodownunder for providing the link.
