Rain but we need it . Ahhh !!

As we all know rain and camping do not go well .. We are fairly prepared up at Bathurst 1000 . Oh boy it is hard work . Found putting tarp under sons tent doesnt work as we thought even with drains around the sides .. Nothing better than double shade cloth or some type of breathing mat ?   Things we work out never ends . Great for grand kids .Seem they dont get this sort of common sense from Google or games ., Rain is Good for the farmers . Yea had to be this weekend !!

Yep, remember when Brocky slaughtered them in the " wet" back when they were proper cars, or almost. Also blue tarps wedged between car doors and splitting open when full of God's Gift.

Rob and I did Bathurst for many years in our younger days and he always used to say that light rain was the worst for the race because the rain could fall at the top of the mountain and be dry down the bottom.
It created a nightmare as far as tyre choices were concerned.

On the other side the farmers really need the rain so lets hope that tomorrows weather keeps everyone happy.
Maybe it can rain later in the week and be dry for tomorrow.

A couple of showers throughout the race time but not enough to fill the dam down in the bottom paddock.

Congrats to Lowndes and felt sorry for the Erebus team and the poor team management decision that did not bring David Reynolds in and replace the driver before it cost them another seven places in the result.

He was not in the best place during the last stint of the race and his safety and the safety of other competitors should have been more of a consideration with an earlier decision.

I would imagine the some of the sponsors would not be that impressed.

Yea . What a race . Most have no idea how fast these cars are driven now . Its a sprint race . Close to a minute faster than 70s production cars . They do it lap after lap . Not surprised David Reynolds had issues . He was the fastest over the top of mountain by several car lengths . Its about car set with driver coincidence these days . Why engineer and driver combination is so important .

What a great weekend..
