Last we bought a top combination a Waeco CFX 40 and little 10L combo for around $1k . Yes as we do it was on line . Keep away from shopping centres plus hardly a bargain . Anyway 13 months latter a fault code flashes 3 times .. compressor not working . So off the our popular fridge repairer . Said to get a reciept itll be under warranty . Said repair is $380. So asked Mrs if she knew where reciept was ? Cleaned everything out no can find .Asked who she bought it off ? Cant remember Ahh . Then I get a call from fridge repairer to say its $680 . I said go ahead and repair . He said again what at $680 ? Ohh ! I said hang on Ill get back to you . So I Googled Waeco twin fridge CFX40 combo for sale . Up came generator sales . Asked the Mrs was it them ? She rang . Gave email address . They asked if her name was Ann. A BIG smile on my face . Next yep well send you the reciept etc . Yay happy days !
I get Office works and The Good Guys to email the receipt as well as paper copy. Harvey Normal keeps them on their System, But for that Store only, so if in doubt we have to ring 2 HN Stores to confirm Receipt/where we bought the item.
I do the above . Store on notes on phone . BUT in this case who - who must be obeyed purchased it . This one for short time slipped through our system . Strange thing is we bought a cheaper 50L Companion . It went bad too . Thing is often when things are fixed under warranty they last . Often wander if its assembled better or up graded parts ? We bought the better more expensive brand thinking better durability!!
Bunnings keep asking me if I want my receipt sent to my mobile. Haven't taken that up yet.
This morning I bought a new printer/scanner/copier from JBHIFI. They asked if I wanted the receipt sent to my phone. Said no. When I got home to set the printer up, I had to get it activated by recording the details of my purchase. Wanted a scan of my receipt. As I was loading my new scanner as the old one was broken, I was in a quandary. However, I could register, get the printer working, scan & upload my receipt (for warranty purposes).
As an aside, the printer was $69. It came with 2 ink cartridges that retailed for $28 & $29 = $57. So that was $12 for a printer/scanner/copier. I paid $1200 for my first printer in about 1982-3. It printed in black only and that's all it did. I'm guessing that all the profit is in selling cartridges.
I get the printer on special and when ink is exhausted throw it out and buy a new one. As you say the difference between cartridges and new printer is $12!
