What ever happened to......?

all those wonderful cartoons that we watched as kids.

All the Walt Disney characters, like Donald Duck and his nephews. Mickey and Minnie Mouse,

and Pluto. The Looney Tunes with Pepe La Phew. I know they were all hand drawn and painted, but what happened?

Are they all under copyright, or is it they coat too much to show.

Maybe today's kids wouldn't want to watch some of those classics.

Anyway.

Pipes.

A couple of years ago while in Townsville I showed my two grandkids a DVD about 'Chip n Dale'. It had them rolling around the floor in laughter. They now have a few DVD's of 'Chip n Dale'. They even run around trying to talk like them.

And did you swap all your comics at half-time?

I have had Foxtel since pay tv was first introduced in Australia and dogbox is right most of those old shows will be rerun somewhere. There are shows like Bonanza, Mash, Hogans Heros, Are You being Served just to name a few that have been continuously running day in day out for years (and there are many others). My biggest gripe is that Foxtel have gone from showing promos for up coming shows to bombarding viewers with the same adds every 10 minutes. Lately I get so frustrated with the breaks I find something on Netflix to watch - probably time to ditch Foxtel except I like to watch the live sport (add free).

Cheers

BB

I was in Malta in the early 60's when they introduced TV Malta. Previously all you got was TV from Sicily.

I can remember watching Bonanza with Italian Dubbing.

Absolutely hilarious to watch. Seeing Hoss Cartwright say Yes on screen, then hearing the Italian dub with ten or twelve words  No need to lipsync.Lol

Growing up in Regional Victoria we only had 2 channels - The ABC & a local one. That may not seem much but our local station only ran the better rating shows from the capital city channels so it was not as bad as it seemed. The ABC ran good stuff too. British Comedies & Mysteries and BBC documentaries. Nothing you couldn't sit with your straight-laced grandmother and watch.

I'm certain but without evidence that such cartoon had violence and therefore to save the tv stations complaints from new mums and dads of a new era - have been in storage.

Full of violence (eg. Roadrunner) and political in-correctness. And then there was Noddy who went to bed feeling a little queer.

F-Troop. My dad's favourite. He was not a big fan of American humour but loved this show. Couldn't understand why until he found out one of the key directors/writer was English. Then it all made sense.

And why did Wrangler Jane never get her man? She was only 15 when rehearsals started and was not yet 18 when it all finished.
