Hot windscreen and cold water don't mix .I took my car to get it serviced ,it was sitting in the sun ,39 in the shade , when they finished the service they went out to give it a wash. Next, bang a crack in the window ,I was told that there was a small ship that coused the glass to crack , who pays for it ? I am insured , so they can work it out them self .cheers

Am I insured? Have a look at your insurance policy. Have you opted to pay to have glass included in the policy (if it is an option)? If you have glass cover is there any excess on that cover? if there is then paying the excess and the resultant loss of full no-claim bonuses in the future may make it not worth claiming on insurance. If you do have glass cover with no excess then go for it.
I don't like your chances of having the service organisation pay for it as it can be deamed the windscreen was faulty at the time of the service.

Peter, yes you are right , it won't cost me anything ,I am fully covert. That's why I said let them fight it out. As for the workshop ,they had two screens cracked a week before, I can not understand that they still wash cars on a hot day.Cheers
