Since this has long been a bugbear of mine, I figured that a few observations would not go amiss. I hasten to add that the following does not apply to all road users obviously!  but a bloody big majority from my observations.

Do not give way  to a vehicle already in the roundabout unless you are less than 30ft away. (The thinking here is if you think that there is just enough room go for it!)

A orange traffic light does not mean be prepared to stop, it really means plant the right foot. ( a green light means the same)

When the speed limit is 60kph its ok to do 70 plus. (if the limit is 100kph then anywhere between 100 and 120 is ok.)

When stopped at traffic lights one should always creep forward in order to be the first away when they change. ( a bit of wheel spin all the better!)

Constantly change lanes, weaving in and out all the way down the road the fact  that you are "cutting in and causing hard braking" is not your problem.

When stopped at lights if the vehicle in front does not move the second that the lights change a long blast of the horn is the way to go.

All possible overtaking options should be considered when you find yourself behind a truck or caravan, even if they endanger others lives. Remember there is not a moment to be lost.

If you see a bus with  indicators on to pull away from a stop it is your bounden duty not to allow him to do so. You must never get caught behind a bus it could cost you at least a minute.

As an old feller once told me quote "a lot of drivers these days have not got time to s--t" Add the presence of ice, mary jane, and all the other combinations of drugs out there and our roads are truly becoming a very dangerous place to be. For me the joy I once had in driving is fast becoming a chore and the roads here in Melbourne are almost at choke point now.
