G'day Iza,

At least Angie posted it in "I digress.." There are many posts in the "General" section and other sections that should be moved to here or even deleted as nothing to do with what this forum is about. Well at least what I thought it was about.

"I digress.." was set up to chat about anything, well almost anything, there are still the Forum Rules.

Could be one reason why many good long time Forum Members have vanished of the face of the earth. Just my thought there. I could be wrong. hmm

If I don't like the sound of a post or even the person I don't even bother reading it. The only good thing about a mouse smile

I second that Dougwe, "I digress", we can chat about anything, and the more posts the better. "General" chat about anything related to camping. Where have all the regular forum members gone, hope we're not heading the way another chat forum has gone after they have changed the format.

This is Angie here and for Kebbins information it was me that posted the link.

If you Izabarack, or anyone can show me where I have not complied with forum guidelines then do so on here and I will contact admin and have the topic removed.

Maybe you dont like the post because you dont agree with the information on the utube video. You are entitled to your opinion but to suggest that the topic be removed because you dont like it is detrimental to the forum. In any case your attitude is extremely negative.

If this is the case then Dougwe is correct in saying that this may be a valid reason why many people are no longer contributing. Thank you for your support Dougwe.

With regard to both my husband and I using separate sign ons on the one forum membership, you all should note that if I post I sign and when Rob posts he signs above me indicating clearly that it is he who has contributed.

Once again if we have contravened any forum rules then let the admin inform us. Please do it mentioning this topic and post so that admin may see how absolutely negative some of you are.

It is again a shame that a topic can not be discussed in an adult manner with views being stated politely and with respect to others.

Any wonder many members no longer contribute.

Some people don't want to see two sides of the story,they have tunnel vision and attack those with a different view. Are the children being manipulated,you bet they are. Have a look at this picture of Greta Thunberg,pay attention to the card she is holding.It is about"Laudato Si" a manifesto put out in 2015. Now with a meeting to be held in 2020,with world and Sports? leaders,to solve this so called climate problem. It makes you wonder what the hidden agenda really is.

Yes and it is not helped by those with a great influence over our children.

Almost everyday we see images of children chanting slogans, waving placards, and worse still, witnessing some others supa gluing themselves to roads to disrupt traffic and business operations.

That was an interesting video.

I am not a scientist so i do not know If this is true or not. I just know i want a world that future generations can grow up in that has clean air, clean Land that can grow clean food. If climate change is true, i will be pushing up daisies like most of us on here while the children of today and tomorrow will be in a sad state. Bottom line, greed is what is going to kill all of us.

After watching the video, I thought that it was selective statistics, to prove that climate change/global warming is a hoax
I have in the past seen other videos, claiming the opposite, but I try and keep internet to a minimum while travelling, so will not search to put any links up

In my opinion if global warming/climate change is a hoax, then yes our grandchildren are being manipulated
I shall put my hand up here and say, that I am not an over intelligent person, but...

My gut feeling says, if global warming/climate change is a hoax, (as President Trump and his followers say), then what exactly is causing

The icecaps melting
Some Australian towns trucking in drinking water
The oceans rising

My stance, until someone enlightens me, is that I fully back the children questioning our leaders, and telling them that they are not doing enough, even if the children have been manipulated

Ok so does anyone on here remember when you were 16 ,18 even 21, remember how you knew everything and your parents knew nothing ?

Well maybe you also remember when you got married and had kids , when by the time you reached about 30 you realised just how little you did Actualy know Back at 16-18-21, you know how you could talk your kids around to get them to do things the way you wanted them done .

Ok so I am not a climate change believer in todays sense , I call them Truth Deniers as we know scientists tell us the earth has been through two ice ages , as far as we know man did not cause this to happen .

The Climate changes four times a year , you know Summer , Autumn, winter ,Spring . Some years they are wet , some dry .

As a kid about 15 I think I came home from school got permission to turn on the TV and watched a show cant remember the name of it but they sent two film crews out on a Sydney ferry yes the same ferry their task was , one had to make the trip look fantastic , fun , enjoyable , the other to make it look awful boat rocking water splashing up over the passengers, sick people leaning over the edge of the boat , you get the picture well you know it worked one could hardly believe the were on the same boat , each film clip was soooooo different .

Now here we are talking about climate change well im sure that we here are all old enough to know that he how pays gets the answer that he wants , why would this climate debate be any different , scientists are like anothers they are not going to bite the hand that feeds them , some have and are now unemployed because they spoke out against this climate alarmist theory , as far as I know those who preach the right tune are all still employed , funny that .

And finally why do you think All Gore has bought two beach side mansions if he believed his own rhetoric about sea levels rising why would you buy a beach side mansion .

The truth is out there . Look for it .

I think many of us are looking constructively as the younger generation seem to become quite passionate at times on this subject. To have someone present another side is informative.

I like Woody and Sues description of how we as children and young adults, thought we knew everything only to realise we may not have been that knowledgeable as we grew older.

The world is moving at a frightening pace with regard to most things. The information highway can easily be manipulated as can our young when they may not be receiving absolutely accurate information. A disturbing example is the telecast speech of that poor 16 year old girl from Europe whose video has gone all over the world.

Only time and a hell of a lot of money in the form of taxes and penalties will reveal the accurate situation.

I don't know either if climate change is a hoax.

But... "towns trucking in drinking water" ? They probably would have "got by", like they have for the last 200yrs,

IF.... The water wasn't used to grow large area crops, e.g. the Hay plains were never intended to be under crops especially when a large percentage of the produce is exported directly overseas.
Trading water resources. Only those that use it should get an allocation.
Extra water is needed to keep the coal industry safe for the workers. That is dampening down the dust.
People are polluting rivers, oceans land and air.

I wouldn't call this climate change but HUMAN GREED and amounts to the same thing.

Thete was a oil shortage crisis in circa1978 too. We all sold our v8's. Car manufacturers installed higher geared differentials and some of us went to LPG.
40 years on we can still buy thirsty engines. Hence the jury is still out for me.

I feel she is genuine and very smart, she has meet and spoken to a lot of world leaders some have listened some haven't, the fact that some have makes her a winner.
You (Angie) say she is not smart? She has achieved more in one year of her life then many have in a lifetime.
It does appear that she is under enormous pressure, either because she expects to much to soon or because she is constantly being attacked for her beliefs by people that don't even understand the harm they are doing.

It's amazing how some people are willing to judge and (usually) criticize youth simply because they think differently. 80 years ago, the youth of Europe took to arms to help free their countries from oppression yet today, in a different battlefield, too many think they are being "manipulated". Just listen to the words if today's youth even if you don't agree you still can and should accept their beliefs. It's THEIR world now and they rightfully want a say. It's possible YOU may have never spoken out publically or protested but it doesn't diminish other's rights, thoughts, beliefs and actions.

Hi Kebbin,

My original post was how figures were, or at least could be manipulated to reflect a one sided view.

My original post was not about the passion of a young girl on the subject of the worlds climate.

I am in no way taking any sides in this. My posting of the link to the second video where I quoted Peter and Margarets link to Gretas very powerful speech was just to hi light the fact that just maybe her speech was prepared, not by her but by persons wanting to manipulate or at the very least, take advantage of a child.

The passion she displayed is most certainly to be admired but if the video of her is true then it appears to me that her passion is being engineered by others as she could not reply to a very simple question.

I also noted that in her defence none of the other members on the panel in front of the media could answer the question either.

Your first contribution in this topic indicates that the video or its contents are, as you put it, a sandwich short, so please explain to all of us those downfalls rather than attacking me.
