Certainly would not even consider a new electric car without a cast iron guarantee of a replacement battery at a reasonable price - This case should be on the air waves. Where are all the green defenders on this?

The interesting thing about this article is the date. The quotation is from Feb this year and a number of motoring forum and sub-forum have already discussed the topic. Some have links to Nissan Aust with figures under 10k plus labour and other people claim they paid $9k plus labour. Figures for a battery change in Japan are around $4k AUD, so just where the $33k factors is anyone's guess. The person who receives this quote hasn't posted a social media update on his Nissan battery saga for nearly 6 months and that is about the life of the battery and Nissan's responses NOT the costs. It reads like one of those stories where there are 3 sides.
Amazingly this story has been picked up by main stream media (Daily Mail). There story is a rewrite of the Costogan clip which is a rewrite of the owner's social media posts. They have added the Nissan are in discussions with the owner. In his last social media post on the topic, the owner was waiting for Nissan to contact him and apparently ignored a Nissan request for him to contact them. Of course they also claim the owner was invoiced 33k when all the images clearly show a Quotation for proposed work not an invoice for completed work. This story reads more and more like a dealer stuff up and the owner isn't going out if his way to assist Nissan. Like the Jeep story (which had been resolved a little or no cost to the owner), Costogan is discussing history with no attempt to follow up and it's increasingly difficult to believe what he publishes.

I always take what he says with a grain of salt but find his rants rather entertaining. I just don't believe any claims he makes.
This outrageous case, and the other Jeep travesty, both have one thing in common. It's not the Americans or the Japanese who are at fault, and it's not even the product which is at fault. It's the ruthless, rapacious, and just plain stupid, Aussie scumbags in the local food chain. And more than that, it's the lack of testicular fortitude by our worthless ACCC. This South Pacific ****hole needs a major overhaul before it can live up to its own misguided fantasy of the "Lucky Country".
