Australia orders 84 million doses of coronavirus vaccine for massive free roll-out next year
Basically if this vaccine, which is being tested in England on 30,000 people is successful It will be made in Australia, at about 3.8 million doses in the first two months of 2021
I put it up as a good news story, due to the fact that if the vaccine is successful, then we shall see it here in 2021
Copy and paste below, may not seem like a good news story, but (in my opinion), I can see the silver lining, of the cloud
Tuesday was Lifeline's busiest day in its history This is very sad to hear - more people called Lifeline on Tuesday than any other day in the organisation's 57-year history.
I have read, (a long time ago), that the experts agree, that there is no one single problem, which leads to depression/self harm
My layman gut feeling, tells me that when we see a problem in front of us, there is always the chance that the problem can/will be solved
On the other hand, when we do not know, that there is a problem, then that problem will never be solved
It is good to see, that more people may be realising that they may have a problem, and have been seeking help

China has gone almost a month without registering a new case of local transmission and on Sunday the National Health Commission reported just 10 new cases - all of them imported.
In summary
When the Covid-19 virus was detected in China, they had a draconian 76-day lockdown
If this report is true, (I have no reason to doubt it), it means that we can eliminate this Covid-19 worldwide

At the moment there is an enquiry going on, about who said what/who done what/who was responsible, for private security firms being in charge of Victorian hotel quarantine
Regardless of the outcome of this enquiry, the good news is that (in hindsight), the Minister for Victorian Health, agrees that private security firms, will not be used in the future
Quote from the article From the Health Minister's statement to the inquiry: No, I would not support the engagement of private security contractors in any future iteration of the HQP. COVID-19 is a highly contagious virus that has challenged many workforces. I am aware of healthcare workers in hospitals with years of experience in IPC, and wearing higher levels of PPE, nevertheless becoming infected, as have clinicians from the ADF working at testing sites wearing PPE, as have members of Victoria Police wearing PPE. 73. In my view, there is no "silver bullet" workforce to respond to the risk of a highly-contagious virus but there is an unacceptable risk in using a largely unskilled and casualised workforce, as we have seen recently also in the private aged care sector.

ISTR that there was a debacle in Victoria when private security firms were engaged to [mis]manage the prison system. Why wasn't the lesson learned way back then?

'German media report that mask-wearing is now required in school corridors and when children go on breaks, but not in the classroom. Students sit in class spaced apart and there is more frequent cleaning with disinfectant.'
I can confirm this as my great nephew in year 3 in Germany has to wear a mask.
