China sells wild animals to the world

And provides tax breaks for the sellers.

Covid-25 awaits perhaps....

This is sickening. I hope Border Force is vigilant. The whole world needs to refuse to have anything to do with the CCP.

I'll give another perspective.

BUT first let me be very clear. I don't support China or what they are doing. I love animals and their trade/attitude makes me sick.

But here's the but.
But we are trying to tell another society what is right or wrong. Imagine for a minute if India jumped up and down about the number of cows we eat. We would tell them to go jump. Well India telling us what to do is the same as us telling China what to do. It's their society. We can talk and yell and jump up and down. But they don't have to listen. Just as we wouldn't listen to India if they lectured us about cows.

But it can't hurt telling them that we think it is very disturbing to the rest of the world.

We can't speak too loudly.

Inhumane & torturous conditions for sheep cooking on ships in +50°C high humidity conditions. Horses being tortured to death, grey hounds still being slaughter, outback leased stations not allowed to de-stock below the government minimum stocking levels with animals starving to death!

It's no quite the same as Covid-19 situation but we need to fix up our own back yard before we throw stones!

I just have heard on the news that Mr Trump has withdrawn all USA monetary support for the WHO.

Apparently the WHO have supported the reopening of the Chinese wet markets.

Maybe other countries should consider this, after all, money talks.

I believe that they haven't been paying their fair share for a long time so it won't make any tangible difference anyway.

I see America as a country in rapid political and social decline.

Suspect the only possible chance of reversing it is to kick the incumbent president out of the White House.

bgt and Whenarewethere,

You both make valid points with your posts. I guess like many I hadn't thought about the other side of the coin. I especially agree with the conditions we are willing to accept within the life export trade of sheep and cattle. It makes me stop and be less judgemental about others.

I agree msg although Mad Cow Disease in domesticated cattle can be an issue, although it is transmitted by eating infected meat.

We just have to accept that what is considered reasonable in one place, is considered unacceptable elsewhere, but we shouldn't judge it under our own terms and conditions. That is one of the great things about the world. So many different people and customs make up the entirety.

1 in 2000 Brits carries the prion that causes CJD (mad cow disease in humans).

As for the USA, I bet that many Americans wish that Obama was still running the country.

I remember in the late 1950`s  cat shins were found in the garbage at the Chinese restaurant in Grafton.

I will not go to a Chinese restaurants.

Me either. and will not go into indian restaurants either since that bloke was found to be emptying the dregs from the wine and selling by the glass in his restaurants and scraping up leftovers and putting into his curries (true or not, it just seems to easy to do).  But then, it is generally known that I am very picky about food and rarely eat anything I haven't prepared and cooked my self. lol.

Keep in mind we don't have to agree with what other societies do but we must agree that they have the right to their beliefs.

That is OK, but we don`t want their unhygienic practices being used in this country.

At one of the larger clubs at Tweed Heads, who  had a Chinese restaurant,  were caught collecting meat that dinners left, washing it and reserving it to dinners.  This info came from health authorities.
