The news today has a few articles regarding the development of a vaccine. How many will be needed. How they are not going to go through the rigorous testing before they put it on the market.
Who is going to get access first. The vulnerable naturally. Won't matter if it kills them, they were going to die anyway. Not for me. though I bet I don't have a choice.
Is this what the push for vaccinations was about just before the virus hit? Threatening to cut welfare to people who wouldn't get their kids vaccinated.
They are hoping to get it up and running just before the US elections? What difference does this make?
All I can say is somebody stands to make a lot of money selling to desperate governments.

I share your cynicism, but I will certainly be lining up for whatever vaccination my trusted GP recommends.
Those who don't should wear the results of their choice even if that means various social restrictions.
Of course in this capitalist world some people stand to make often obscene profits from a vast range of (Govt) decisions.
I wonder what those who have been calling for borders to be opened have to say about the emerging Vic situation. Once again our Qld Govt (like SA & WA etc) has done the right thing and shown the guts to make a firm decision, not like the wishy washy error prone NSW Premier.
Edit Oops ... Looks like I spoke too soon. This is from the next message that I read after this post ...
"Victorians from coronavirus hotspots face six months jail and an $11,000 fine if they cross the border into NSW.
NSW residents who head to one of the 10 locked-down Melbourne postcodes in defiance of instructions from state authorities must complete 14 days isolation or face the same penalties, NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said."
Now that's not very 'wishy washy' is it.
Apologies to the NSW Premier.
I wonder what our now Jingoistic PM will have to say about this development (must be some elections coming on for him to play the usual Military card).
Also how will this play out in relation to the border closure law suits?

She certainly has Iza she finally put a limit on the number of overseas travellers using Sydney as their gateway back into Australia especially as quite a few of them have been testing positive for Covid. I may be a little cynical but it seems it was a pretty smart move by the Qld government to force people to pay for their own time in isolation - of course most travellers (even Qlders) are going to choose to come in where this cost is picked up by someone else. I'm with you Cupie keep the borders shut the vast majority of people in NSW shouldn't have any real need to travel to Qld (or Qlanders to NSW) those who do should have to apply for an exemption the same as is now in place on the Victorian border. The threat of returning to a lockdown situation has got to be far worse than having to put off your interstate travel for awhile. Be careful bragging how well your state is doing, that imaginary line on the ground is not really a 100% guarantee of protection - we are only ever 2 weeks away from whats happening in Victoria to happen anywhere in Australia.

If I'm dead in a few weeks you will know why! We are isolating ourselves for a few weeks.
The same comment could be made about the people I saw on news reports packed onto the Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne beaches - its like they have no problem in playing Russian Roulette with other peoples lives.
