Here is our coral reef rig including a Nissan Patrol Y62 with coral reef wrap and a Golf Savannah Maxxi 390 off-road pop up caravan with fish motif. The caravan includes separate shower and toilet rooms, 2 x fresh water tanks, a grey water tank, 2 x double beds, 2 x solar panels, 2 x 100Ah batteries, a true state of charge battery monitor (ePRO plus), 2000W inverter, indoor and pull-out outdoor kitchens, oversized fridge, AC, wireless levelling sensor, wireless gas level monitors for our 2 gas bottles, and a VAST satellite TV system.

Welcome to the gang Derek, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Nice looking rig you have there and with all the bits and bobs you mention should lead to great times ahead.

Only one thing bothers me though, something looks a bit fishy about it all.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Howdy Derek, lovely looking unit all up and so much comfort gear as well.

Should be neat for long hauls and free camps where ever. Like the idea of the 200w inverter off the solar.

I am intrigued with the Coral Reef Wrap, is that a stick on poly whatever surface which is paint protection in wild off road bush areas?

Yes the wrap is a vinyl wrap and it has protected the paint from many scrapes from trees and bushes when going off road. So far we have only taken the car and caravan off road to the Flinders Ranges and Lake Mungo, though we have driven through some tight fire trails in Tallaganda State Forest in the car alone. The only problem is that the window surrounds are not protected so they have been scraped.

Hi Derek, Looks amazing. Also a nice touring set up. Is there a story or special reason for the coral reef theme ?.

We just love the Barrier Reef, especially the southern part near the Tropic of Capricorn. One of the places we love to visit is Lady Elliot Island (we have an aerial photo of the island on the top of the car under the roof rack). On Lady Elliot Island you can see mother turtles laying eggs and baby turtles hatching in February and March, so we put sea turtles on the bonnet. The car was a dull black colour originally so we decided to have it wrapped. The photos are all from the southern barrier reef and were stitched together by the wrap company (Funky Car Skins, Canberra). Most people we meet love the car and say it makes them happy, and we often get people taking photos of it. Kids love it too and love finding Nemo in the coral.
