Lest we forget, that this is Remembrance Day

Although I have never been in the armed forces

I believe the only difference between me and members of the armed forces, was that my birth date was not selected in the ballot

I dips my lid to you all, and I shall not forget

On the 11th hour of the 11th month of 1918, the war to end all wars, finally stopped

My grandfather on my fathers side, was in this war

He survived the war, but died within a few short years, because he was gassed in the trenches
