RE: Covid-19 Quarantine Breach, again

NSW (Sydney) has probably accepted 10 times as many people returning from OS than any other state and has quarantined them in city hotels. I dont know whether it's been through good luck or good management but it hasn't resulted in any major outbreaks in the community (touch wood). I would have thought that all the states would have benchmarked each others methods for managing their quarantine facilities as its pretty clear that a single mistake will have a devastating impact on a densely populated city. I'm sure that you guys in South Australians will be able to get on top of this spike just as NSW, Qid and Vic have all been able to get control of recent outbreaks by the use of contact tracing and containment methods. We were hoping to get down to Kangaroo Island before Xmas but the premier has advised NSW residents to put off travelling to SA at least until they are sure that the spike has been brought under control...

The technical terminology is good luck!

If one looks at the number of doctors & nurses who have acquired Covid, who themselves know the gravity of the situation, have often isolated themselves from their own families.

A hotel is a land based cruise ship.

If we really want to stop transmission, give the people a few weeks supplies & go remote camping!

Thanks for the answers. The media only give so much information. The brother inlaw has very limited internet on his farm. Finding the details on the internet isn't one of his strong points. I'm in Qld so wasn't sure of the SA requirements.
But I see today that the SA gov is fine tuning their restrictions.

I'm in Sydney & typed in 'South + Australia + Government + Covid' & a SA government website came up on the first page which down a bit you get to the current restrictions. 3G is fast enough.

I called (second) cousins making a family health check when the topic of the restrictions and exemptions was discussed. They're apricot and sultana grape growers in Nuriootpa and got their news on local radio. Old fashioned but remarkably effective.

Hopefully, the SA outbreak has been contained, and anyone in a position to catch it, is now in quarantine

There was a lot of luck involved, when the young Doctor swabbed the elderly woman, when she heard her cough

If that had not happened, by the time the authorities had became aware of the outbreak, it could have been spreading far and wide

A pity about the man who lied, and said that he only went into the pizza place, to buy a pizza
This made it look as though, this strain of the virus, was very quick to start spreading
The latest on this man, is that his student visa, runs out about the middle of December

The good news out of all this, is that every State, has decided to test their hotel quarantine workers, weekly
West Australia Premier has said, if a person refuses to be tested, they will loose their job
