I hope that by posting this video, I am not breaking the forum rules.
But the video is well worth a look and listen.
I never voted for any Politician to sell off our Country, that you and I have applied hard work and dreamed to build a better country for our future, and not to see it being sold off for a few $$$$$.
I will also add that we are part of the problem often buying the cheapest option rather than spending a bit extra & buying quality. Often now it is extremely difficult if not impossible to buy an alternative.

Not much pride in our country among the younger generation, more a case of what's in it for us and how can we tear down/denigrate things held dear by older Australians.
Mind you this is nothing new, over 2000 years ago Socrates said.
The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.

Santa,
How true, now there is a lesson for the young.
And yes, I guess I like many others are guilty of buying some of the Cheap Chinese products.
But what I so upset about is the amount of Aussie Real Estate and companies that we have left the Chinese take control of.

Absolutely agree...and it is primarily those members of the "we want it now" generation, with no reasoning skills, who allowed this to happen. For years I consoled my self that, although the Chinese may own our farms, shipping the produce to China would be managed by forbidding them from using our ports. But then someone ...obviously not the brightest star in the sky...decided that it would be a good idea to let the Chinese control the Port of Darwin! Spare me.It is surely concerning that these sorts of clowns are given authority to do these things? Cheers
I think many have got the wrong perspective about foreign owned real estate in Australia. The largest owners are the UK (7.2%) and US (2%). China 0.4%.

I assume that the very large portion held by Aboriginal interests is not included in grazing land.
It would be interesting to see the percentage of residential held by Chinese ethnics. In our area it would be significant. I can't recall a property in our street brought by non Asians in recent years. They seem to have the money & will likely get my place when I have to go to something smaller. BTW, they are mostly very good neighbours.
