And on a brighter note - fuel prices

Why do we bend over and let the fuel companies $#@# us? Here on the Gold Coast fuel jumped in minutes from $1.049 a litre to $1.549 litre in a mater of minutes.

Maybe there's a long weekend coming or am I a skeptic?

World oil prices haven't changed. Aust dollar is on the move up.

Yes I know the gov gets a percentage but ........ And don't blame this government every government is the same.

So what's the answer?

The government sets a flat rate, not a percentage.

Petrol: 42.3 c/L

Ethanol 42.3 c/L

Diesel 42.3 c/L

Aviation Kero 3.556 c/L

The government will get the lowest percentage if using petrol filling up with RON98, avoid the lowest octane fuel. Better still, fly!

 Then comes the GST.

An increase of 50cents gives the govt 5cents per litre.

I for the life of me, can not understand the business model the Petrol Companies use.

I guess it is a little like dollar-cost averaging.

Top Price   $1.60..... Low price.....$1.10  Difference $0.50c  Dollar-cost average Sell price = $1.25.

I do not know if this equation is correct, but dollar-cost averaging works for me in the sharemarket and other areas.
