Caravan Council of Australia ; Copied from a Facebook site.

While the responses to the various articles provided by the Caravan Council of Australia have consistently been around 95% "Liked" and greatly appreciated, there are always a few comments that are completely untrue, abusive, highly offensive, degrading and often very close to being defamatory. It is about the same percentage for the large number of phone calls and emails - caravancouncil@optusnet.com.au - that are received every day of the week.
Firstly, the Caravan Council of Australia is a completely independent, non-commercial, non-profit, non-political body - with NO Members, and with NO connection to any Member-based organisations. It is only concerned with recreational vehicles.
It is ran on an HONORARY basis, and has freely assisted MANY highly-aggrieved 'vanners, who have had major problems with Manufacturers and Dealers, and who often have been forced to suffer horrible costly and stressful litigation in an effort to have Defects - even "Major Failures" - rectified.
The CCA - duly approved by ASIC - is managed by a semi-retired professional automotive engineer... who sadly lost three close family friends in a tragic caravan accident some time back. He is a Graduate of one of the most highly-regarded Automotive Engineering Universities in the U.S., and has 54 years international experience in engines, emissions, alternative fuels, vehicle handling and stability, vehicle safety and FMVSS / ADR compliance engineering. This includes involvement with various projects at one of the world-class Automotive Research R&D facilities in Detroit.
He has towed many race-car trailers and caravans over many miles, and has participated in numerous top-level motor-sport projects and suspension-development activities, one of which resulted in a significant U.S. Patent being granted to him. He has been a vehicle-compliancing engineer on "both sides of the fence" for the past 28 years... including being a compliancing engineer with Vehicle Safety Standards.
The CCA will continue to assist caravanners on Engineering / Compliance / Safety and Quality issues. It is strongly advocating for the Government to urgently and significantly improve the professionalism and compliance of all Manufacturers and Dealers, for the benefit of caravanners.
Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the "Status of the Caravan Industry" high-light the serious issues that MUST be resolved. The CCA conducts all communications in the strictest of confidentiality - as per the Code of Ethics of Engineers Australia. Hopefully mis-informed people will now appreciate the valuable work conducted by the CCA.

Thanks for posting Possum3. I guess the unfortunate problem is the choice of name. The minute you see the word 'Council' then one assumes it's some form of body with some form of authority.

Thanks for your support of this body Possum, I'm certain those of us who have used it would have gained some benefits.
Like most Facebook pages, I see them as a necessary evil. Some are good, helpful, others not so good. And individual posters, as seen on this forum at times, there are some strange people out there. I see the same traits in the Lemon Caravan F-book pages.
