Wonderful Story... A Car Salesman's Nightmaregreat video
She wont buy a new car until she has worn her old one out and it is still in new condition, after all, it was only 84 years old (the car that is, oh, the lady (at the time this video was made) was 101...!)
What a pleasant and spry lady she was...! This ladys car is a 1930 Packard.
Take note in the video that she lays a shop rag on the running board to step onto when she gets in and out of the car. Then after she is in the car, she leans all the way down to the running-board to get the rag. She was in great physical and mental shape for her age. The car is not bad either... My dad, had a Whippet when I was a kid. Paid 45 pound for it. It was in a1 cond. and he kept it for 4 years, and sold it to Greens for 105 pounds, and use that money to almost pay full price for a house in Inverell. He worked for Greens, as a woolbuyer, but they were into old cars, intending to set up a museum, down the track, which they did. I loved that old soft top, and would buy one today, if I could afford it.

What a lovely lady and how about that car. I remember that when my older sister's boyfriend, (now husband) began seeing her, he would arrive in a 1928 Plymouth. We kids all thought it was something out of The Untouchables. (the car, that is.)
Thanks for posting that Possum.

A great mate of mine who fought at Milne Bay (our first victory over the Japs) 'migrated' from WA to Ipswich Qld in a Whippet (converted into a ute) in around 1948. It was loaded up with his wife & all their worldly possessions. He was still using it as his daily driver when I met him in 1958.
By that time it was nothing like the car in the vid
