Heading for "Paradise" - North QLD? Look out!

I mentioned in the post about Mr Pussey of the break down of law & order of the situation in regional QLD.

In today's Townsville Bulletin is the latest statistics for what was a good town to live in - 71 houses broken into & 20 cars are being stolen every week for the years 2019 - 2020!!

Late last year the hideous cost in stolen cars alone was released - $2m worth of cars stolen in 2 years from 2017 to 2019 & the cars weren't all in the "high end" price category.

So if you're heading for our cities north of Rockhampton & you own an automatic car, tug - ensure you lock up, keep your keys secure & know how to lock the car while you are in it. Kids are carjacking during daylight hours too! Be careful if you shop in major shopping centres alone as they hit the car parks.

The police acknowledge there are 400 serious, recidivist (a new word invented by the authorities  in Qld) youth offenders across  the state. I won't say who we can thank for this "wonderful" situation.

There must be a realistic and practical form of punishment that will make potential offenders think carefully. In WA we also have the same problem up north. Fenced caravan parks in Alice Springs I'm told. Perhaps the parents of these offenders also need a swift smarten up.

Bring back the cane!!! It's a joke folks. But giving them a slap with a wet feather isn't working.

Bringing the cane back is a good idea, but in some other countries, they still cut off your hand at just below the elbow, so I would prefer to see that brought, hell, if some turd steals from me that is what he is going to get. I am one a of a few people that follow thru with my threats.

We all except one political party knows what the solution is & some of you have mentioned a threatened punishment that would work once word got around. All our state government is good at in this issue is having talk fests with poor outcomes, wasting millions of dollars each time. They were the ones who softened the previous govt's laws.

The situation has been getting worse & with no fear of the law (kids aged under 16 now have their horrendous, in many cases criminal history wiped clean), these children, youth can do what they like, when they like. While one race is predominant, they aren't alone.
We are seeing breakdowns in family life due to alcohol, drugs & violence, and while many see the Welfare Card as being a great solution to most of the issues, the govt is blind.

While the reports given have been for the last two years, in the early hours of last Monday morning, four cars were stolen. One thing car theft is proving is that newer cars are safer. The cars are crashed, written off in most cases but the crims can get out & run away!!

All I was saying in my initial message is that if you head into regional Qld, take precautions with your security & safety.
