My understanding is that our agreement to such international conventions does not incorporate them into Australian law and the government may ignore them at its will although that may provoke a strongly worded letter or the like from other countries.

A bill of rights would be enshrined in our law and only changeable by act of parliament or maybe referendum.

Knowing that Australians are reluctant to say yes to any referendum, But Mal Turncoat was pushed into a plebiscite on the gay marriage question by the looney left and noisy minorities.

The plebiscite returned a 61% positive in favor of the gay marriage question, instead of being about gay marriage it became a whole raft of other LBGT issues at the expense of what we can say or think, so that kills the right to free speach. Exit one of the tenants of a bill of rights, another tenant which would fail is the right bear arms and defend yourself.

In respect to the gay marriage question I still maintain that the voting system was flawed and the was no a genuine count could be counted by a mail in process, why do I think this well I am aware of at least 10 people including myself and partner who never received the opportunity to vote, all who were in the same age group as us.

In defence of Tony Abbott he has contributed more to this country, not only as a member of parliment but as a Vol Firefighter, Surf Lifesaver along with his philanthropic support of many charities.
