Well the now ex deputy PM didn't do much for his local seat here Craig.
When you look back at why Barnaby lost it in the first place, that was very tame compared to what has happened at the Big House in Canberra since.
Personally, what he does privately is his business, not everyone else's.

Barnaby is on record for voting against provision of free Gardisal vaccination against HPV on the grounds of "social implications" and the possibility it would encourage promiscuity. At the very least, the man is a hypocrite and his voting on parliament is at odds with his private life. Because if this, to many people his private life *is* a concern.
Does he also believe that he would "rather live in Australia than any other part of the Nation"? Bridget is also back and as I live in a marginal seat I reckon our stamp collecting club should put in for a one million dollar grant to build a new dunny.
I like Barnaby. I had an email correspondence with him soon after he first became a MP and I found him to be straightforward and not afraid to speak his mind.
Edit:
I note the ABC is doing a hatchet job on him this morning but no surprise there.

Trevor57 the Nationals aren't irrelevant. Your comment is way off the mark. Look at the last few elections. Without the national votes the coalition wouldn't be in power. So it can be argued that the Nationals are keeping Labor out of power.
I've exchanged a number of emails with Barnaby. No matter what the subject you always get an answer from him. He passes queries on and passes answers back. No form letters the real thing. How many other politicians do that?

Firstly I live in regional Victoria, our Federal seat is far right Nationals, so far from being a swinging seat it is not funny
The Nationals are irrelevant, people are walking away from them in droves, they are seen as the Liberals puppets. The only way the Nationals get any power is swinging off the shirt-tails of the Liberal Party, without the Libs there is no Nationals
It has been years since the Nationals actually represented rural and regional Australia, the last good leader they had was Tim Fischer - hell they even changed their name to become popular with 'city folk'. I remember when they were called the Country Party, but those philosophy's are long gone
