di he knowingly go there with COVID, did he have the test, knew he positive then chose to go to the supermarket - or did he just think he had a cold? For some people the symptoms are quite mild

NSW intensive care doctors are treating seven Covid-19 patients, including a person aged in their 30s, officials have said.
A further 30 people have been hospitalised with the coronavirus disease, and two of the ICU patients are on ventilators.
Eight of the hospitalised people are under the age of 35.
Those numbers should be a wake-up call that proves Covid-19 is a serious disease that can impact young people as well, chief health officer Kerry Chant said.
The fact that 37 patients have been admitted to hospital should indicate to the community the fact that Covid is not a mild disease, she said.
It can be mild in some but for many it can lead to hospitalisation and death.
Dr Chant said that 14 of the hospitalised people were under the age of 55.
(This) should dispel the myth that this is something that only impacts on the elderly A bit of a wake-up call to young people, she said.
I see the problem another way, around 0.007% of the people tested in Sydney have contracted Covid, but 99.993% don't. Tin pot CHO's and Premiers are still playing the scaremongering game.
I have 2 sons in the greater Sydney area who are locked down, fortunatly both are commonwealth public servants, who can work from home, but spare a thought for those who's jobs cannot be done from home now entering their 3rd week of lockdown with no pay yet the bills still keep arriving.
Thanks to the media the con job and lies from states continues.
Previous generations didn't have mobile phones- instant connection with family and friends, not having to wait till they got home, access through Facebook, Instagram or emails, Skype...gee this was science fiction like the jetsons once and no draft to go to war. And certainly no possibility of working from home.
Yep lockdown, how terrible ha! And for how long? Couple of weeks here and there?
But what I think is the REAL issue here is, selfishness. People are not interested in the benefits lockdown does for the community. It's the me me me generation.

Could not agree with you more Tony.
Drafted to go overseas and were vaccinated before they went.
I can not imagine, if through enemy aircraft attack, we had to turn all the lights out at night.
The president of the AMA has advised that if we don't comply to lockdown regulations and other simple rules then we could easily end up as bad off as many overseas countries.

What is going on here? Rarely do I concur with comments by either Rob or Tony, but both the posts above contain lots of common sense and (shudder) logic. Unfortunately, both of these traits are often conspicuous by their absence.Well said, gentlemen! Cheers.
Agree with Rob & Tony, the only way out of this pandemic is to follow directives it's really not that hard. Stop being spoilt brats who want ieverything from holidays to gym, but this selfish attitude will only mean more prolonged pain for everyone.
The precious amongst us need a big wake up call, double the fines and name them.
I've mentioned it on another post but I'll repeat it here.
A study https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)00978-8/fulltext has shown that the countries that have tried to eliminate Covid-19 from within, using lockdowns, etcetera, are better off economically than those countries that try for mitigation. That works if everybody complies with the directives. Those selfish people who are breaking the rules are just extending the lockdowns and, not only ruining the economy but also risking other people's lives.
Grand daughter has just gone into isolation at her home, straight from work and after the flatmate of a close contact of a confirmed COVID infection chose to leave isolation and go to discuss rent arrears, face to face, with my Property Manager grand daughter. The first person mentioned is being monitored for compliance in isolation but the flatmate only been told to isolate until the first person is cleared (or otherwise) by repeated testing. During a monitoring visit to the first person, questions were asked as to the whereabouts of the flatmate and that is what led to my GD being in isolation until others further back up the line are cleared. My story is intended to show how easily and quickly the negative flow on effects of the actions of one stupid, selfish, fool, spread. It appears the flatmate will be getting a serious fine and a lot of my family are happy with that.
Upshot is that we get to parent our GGkids for the next two weeks.

These people are criminals. In my opinion the fines are not severe enough. They must know that they are doing the wrong thing yet they're so selfish and still party on.
This is just making the NSW lockdown longer and increasing Covid-19 cases.
