One reason for ringfence/lockdown

It appears that these people knew they were Covid-19 positive, before leaving their area

Snip can say it better than me

Unfortunately or correctly fortunately we live in a Country where the Rule of Law is practiced - Offences and Penalties are determined by Legislation - You can have input on our Laws by Petitioning Parliament and voting - unless of course you are a Journalist.

They don't need to go to gaol. Their lawyer's fees will be enough to cripple them for many years.

i wonder if there is any connection between the removal company/companies ,the ones that went to melbourne had touble communicating with the contact tracers as to movements , someone got permits for them ?
in the past some larger companies would employ 457 visa workers, when they accumulated a few fines and earned enough points on their license they would just pack their bags head home with a pocket full of money ,fines unpaid

 well said

According to the senior Police officer at yesterdays media conference he said that they will be charged on summons and the penalty COULD be up to an $11,000 fine and/or 6 months jail - if they are foreign workers is that enough to deport them under Dutton law?

Anyone here on a visa may have that visa cancelled at the whim of the minister as "not a fit and proper person".

You're right.

Good riddance to her, and may she never come back.

They are deporting that Channel 7 woman because of her comments about violating quarantine etc. Rightly so too, so I guess that they could deport the itinerant workers if they do not follow the rules. After all, this is a matter of vital importance to Australia. If they were a terrorist threat, they would have no qualms about locking them up or deporting them. This is no different.

As an Australian male, who was born in England

May I just say to that controversial (Channel 7/Big Brother) female

"Piss off, and don't come back." Or words to that effect

If that makes me bigoted, and raciest, then so be it

I have just come across another reason, to support ringfence/lockdown

Below is a snip from a news article today

A truck driver from a COVID-19 hotspot who tried to enter Queensland with falsified documents has been placed into hotel quarantine.

Does anyone actually know what she allegedly did? I searched and I think it was a huge over-reaction to boot her - I think her politics got her booted not her quarantine tanty

Hi Trevor 57

I could not read the Daily Mail news article, as it does not like my add blockers

Two snips from the article which Dorian put up

Ms Hopkins had been brought to Australia by Channel 7 to join its reality television program Big Brother VIP, but was dropped from the program after boasting about the ways she was undermining the hotel's safety protocols, describing the lockdown as a "hoax".

And this one

In a video that has since been deleted from Instagram, Ms Hopkins said she had been "lying in wait" by her door for workers delivering food to her room, so she could "spring it open and frighten the **** out of them and do it naked with no face mask.

Edit to say that the four letters which have been removed are ess, aitch, eye, and tea

Yep, she was booted for making a joke. I think it has more to do with her politics
