We saw a modern version of this in Italy a few years ago. They camped next to us. We were surprised at the amount of equipment the couple managed to pack in, having a luxury camping setup, Helinox chairs, table, Thermarest mattress, cooking equipment. Seriously Impressive stuff. It inspired us to be efficient in a car.

If you can have this much luxury with a bike & trailer. Doing it with a car is a piece of cake.
