"To be classed as a donation or grant, a receipt of funds or assets must have been FREELY GIVEN, with NO consequent OBLIGATION on the donor to provide..."
Why is this topic raised every few weeks. Call a spade a spade and there would be no argument. What you are asking for is a CAMPING FEE.
Fee - A fixed sum charged, as by an institution or by law, for a privilege.
So simple isn't it!
My immediate thought about donation boxes is that they may be vulnerable to theft. How do I know that the money I put inside will go to the "community"? It wouldn't stop me from paying my fair share, but I'd feel better if there were a more secure payment method. Maybe the local council could give people a BPAY option, just as they do for payment of rates?

The Gunning Show ground is a donation spot (not bad either) and can be paid at the local servo in town. For memory the 'free' camp next to the pool in town is also paid at the servo (across the road)
Keep safe out there all.

Yes, bpay or local shop is a good option.
The local I spoke to did say there had been a couple of incidents of theft. But that would not be a show stopper for me.
