I could see problems using this method

Could work without damage to the battery but !!!

Get a younger person to lift it out for you

Jokes aside. I used one of these for years. Guess i lost it in a move.

2 large washers that fit over the terminals. Drill a small hole of each one, say 4mm. Then just join them using 4mm cord. Crap drawing inserted. LOL
