From latest news this morning it was an exemption issued by the chief health officer from Tennis Australia who issued a medical exemption on a Tennis Australia letterhead.
There really not letting much out, but it is sounding like Tennis Australia and possibly the Vic government are behind trying to let this clown in.
Scomo is now seeing this, in my opinion, as a good vote catching exercise by standing up preaching as he is. Hate to admit I agree with him, for once and maybe the only time!
Lets just hope our legal system show some "guts" and sends this clown packing
As far as the Farther's comments, what a bloody looser, he's acting like the father of a clown
Rafael Nadal said it all in his statement yesterday, he really is a champion, well said Rafa!
Ian
what was the name of that ship that picked up the refugees just before mr howard went to an election was it the tampa ?

So so true, probably enough said , would not like to see this subject closed

ps from now on I'm calling him NOVAX
The only possible reason a vaccination exemption could be granted to him is if he had a PCR confirmed infection within the last 6 months.
None of the other reasons such as major health issue, mental issues or adverse reaction to first dose could possibly apply to Novak.

I think Mr Tiley may have some explaining to do!
Sorry Montie I don't think that is right.
Health Minister Greg Hunt sent the CEO of Tennis Australia a letter clearly stating that people who had tested positive to Covid-19 within six months did not meet exemption requirements to enter the country according to this article.
See the lawyer said that there is a good chance he will be able to play as the legal stuff cannot be done in the time of the open. The legal fight will carry on sometime after the event, which would be totally irrelevant at that time. Well played Novax.

It matters not what has happened so far. I am sure that somehow, a legal eagle will win and Joko will be allowed to stay in Oz. There is too much money involved here for him not to be allowed to play. I am not saying this is good - in fact I think it is BAD, but lawyers and politicians are not the most honest of people.
Some poor ABF worker will no doubt get his ass kicked severely now (if he hasn't already had it) simply because he did his job properly.
Whatever, Joko will create a LOT of controversy when he comes out to play.

How bloody unfair to the poor souls that spent years locked out of their homeland!!
A pox on them for not sending him out on the next plane.
Now that the precent's set, who knows what the rules will be.
Jumping the gun, nothing set yet.
Tennis Australia and Vic government appear to be at fault here for giving him an exemption, well thats just my opinion.
As far as Tennis Australia saying it(the exemption) was all done with anonymity, what a load of garbage! Talk about a conflict of interest as they put the committee together, stinks of corruption, to me!!
It seems that Djokovic exposed others to COVID while he was waiting for his test results. If this is true, then he should be deemed unfit to enter this country. Someone who does that cannot be regarded as being of good character.
Photos show Djokovic unmasked at events on the day documents show he tested positive:
Multiple images posted by the Novak Foundation's official social media accounts show Djokovic, who wasn't wearing a mask, participating in a panel discussion in front of an audience.
The images are dated December 16, which is the same date Australian court documents show he tested positive for Covid-19. None of the other participants were wearing masks.
On December 17, the Belgrade Tennis Association's Facebook page posted various photos of Djokovic posing with a group of young people at a tennis awards ceremony. One photo shows at least 26 mostly young people posing with him. Local Serbian media widely reported that Djokovic participated in the youth awards event.
On the same day, Djokovic posted a photograph of himself with a plaque on his official Instagram account.
The caption reads: "An honor to receive my very own Serbian stamp. Thank you to my generous country for this rare gift! I'm humbled!! Excited to share we'll partner with the Serbian National Postal Service on @novakfoundation projects for every child to have the opportunity to attend preschool. Gratitude for everyone that brought this together. Now @jelenadjokovicndf and I will take some stamps home for the kids to write to Santa."
It is unclear if Djokovic was aware of his test results before appearing at any of these events. CNN has reached out to Djokovic's representatives for comment.

Cant say I blame Djokovic for this fiasco, he applied for a visa, it was granted, he boarded a plane bound for Oz believing he would be allowed in
Djokovic is not some poor individual confused about Australian entry requirements. Djokovic is a multinational business employing many top quality people, lawyers, accountants, planners, travel advisers etc and it is those people who should have ensured he would be allowed in especially given his known unvaccinated status and Australia's known toughness in regard to immigration and *especially* covid related immigration. I suspect Spolied Brat Syndrome overrulled these people.
All multinationals have travel departments who ensure travelling staff are made aware of and equipped with the correct passport, tickets, credit cards visa and medical requirements - this happens all the time with thousands of people travelling around the world every day of the year, how come the top tennis player on the plannet can't get his act together?
