& Covid.
If that doesn't get you it will probably be a spiked drink like Dianne Brimble.

Worst of all, you're trapped, listening to other passengers life stories.
Give me the wide open spaces of caravaning anytime.
Yet some love them. Cannot wait to get back on board and out on the ocean. Wife said "they can have them, last thing I'd want to do. Was bad enough just going to Tassie".
Guess we will never go on a sailing holiday, not that I care either.

I'll second the Tassie comment, unfortunately we did a day sail on the trip there.
It was about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Booked a cabin & took a sleeping pill on the way back, best sea voyage that we're ever likely to have.
We have been on two cruises out of Melbourne well before covid. On the last one I was in the gents pointing Percy to the porcelain when, in a cubicle behind me, comes the sound of water flushing. The door opens and this bloke comes out and walks straight out the toilet.
What hope have you got????? Needless to say that was the last cruise for us.

The last couple of flights we took with Virgin Airlines before the pandemic were interesting.
We were waiting at the departure gate, the plane pulls in, the passengers get off, not long after we get on.
The plane is full of left over rubbish, you can still feel the body heat & odour of the previous passengers.
No more flights for us, particularly now Covid is here.

Nothing to do with a cruise ship so a tiny bit off topic but,
Many moons back and long before Covid was in nappies or even thought of, like about 10 years ago, I was walking toward one of the big supermarket's in my smallish home town of down town Wonthaggi S W Gippsland VIC when I noticed a, well, slightly rough looking lady coughing and sneezing into her hands then wipes the sn.t from her face with hand and THEN grabbed hold of a trolly! Yikes! I was disgusted and went in to said store bought a packet of big name disinfectant wipes, paid and went out and gave a trolly a good clean then did my shopping. I have been wiping trollies ever since. Now mostly everyone is doing it.
Apart from 8 trips on the good ship Spirit I have never been interested in going on a cruise ship or even OS and still not. There, back on topic

For all you naysayers about The Spirit of Tasmania, it is possible to have an enjoyable evening/night crossing. Join the littel party, quiz etc at the back of the boat, have a couple of football price drinks and join in.
Day crossing, paint dont dry on moving water, but the effect is much the same.
