I decided to leave this forum and some others while I was not well. I was receiving a treatment which worked for the ailment but could mess with your thoughts. This was one of the side effects.

I removed my account and when I was ready to rejoin I applied with a note to admin that it was me coming back.

The level of tolerance is not the responsibility of a member but more related to moderation. The annoying part of moderation on here is that an entire topic can be deleted with the press of a button because of a couple of rude or personal comments are made.

That action shows no respect toward the majority who have provided valuable and quite often, technical information to another member.

Many of those offenders Have never, from their history of posts, ever supplied any advice relating to the base of this forum. I would doubt very much that those malingerers have ever owned a caravan, a camper or a tent and are easily identified. It could be easy.

Why do you need to advertise your feelings, if you don't like whats happening, just leave say nothing.

If you are missed some may query as to your circumstances.

Otherwise you can always look in as a ghost by not logging on.

I'm very sorry to hear you leave byclecamper. Hopefully, when Cindy is well again, she'll take action and remove those offenders to make the forum a better place.

I've owned a caravan for 12 years, its the only one that I'll ever own.
I don't call myself a caravaner even though I've towed it around mostly bush camping for 120,000kms.
To me its just a box on wheels that I sleep in.
Basically I'm not interested in caravans.
The thing that I like about this forum is travel & destinations along with safety issues & the like.
I've noticed lately that some members have been digging up rubbish from the net, placing a link to it & starting a new thread.
The majority of it is trash that any idiot could dig up if they were bored.
I'm also interested in the health & lifestyle issues posted here as well as financial interests.
I feel that the forum is well worth being a member of despite some arguments.

This is Angela Driver here this morning.

Rob is having a little break from here as well.

Recently he was bombarded with rudeness from a certain member which was followed by arguments from all sides.

It was reported and removed.

I have written to Cindy but have not had a reply so I do wish her well if she is ill.

Really some of you fellows are acting so childishly but when one is just is looking on you can easily see who the main ringleader is.

I would almost bet that if he were gone the status would balance.

Maybe now Bicycle camper is only looking on now instead of trying to participate he might see as other can the outstanding problem that can be broken down to a couple of participants.

Please be kind to each other and try to ignore those who are posting under false pretences.

If they dont attract an audience they will go to another *street corner*

Many members have great friendships with other members, built up over years of sharing ideas and knowledge etc. Common courtesy would dictate that if one of them was planning on leaving the forum he would at least say "Goodbye" to others rather than drift off into the sunset. Cheers

I have to agree, maybe choice of words could've been better. Not sure what Bicyclecamper's intentions actually are. He indicates

he's leaving, but, still wants to be around to read and maybe add comments. That is not leaving or resigning. Don't really understand

the purpose of the post other then to highlight he has been mistreated in some way. That is different to leaving.

If the latter was/is the case, simply say so and just hang/lurk in the background. If some observe that his posts are fewer,

a comment will be made and he may choose to respond.

In other forum, when a member leaves/resign, they take steps that essentially puts their 'accounts' in suspense and rarely

keep on posting or reading posts. They have made that decision. You can still read their previous post but cannot add.

Good luck mate, hope you sort yourself out.

I can understand why Byclecamper is leaving and I don't understand why this thread is being challenged. When Mike Harding wasn't posting people were concerned about him. The same could happen for Byclecamper so announcing his intention to leave is just a heads up.

I've been on hundreds of lists/forums. I've never been banned and this is the ONLY one where people have been so rude, uncaring, and insulting and then when questioned about that behaviour, get told 'toughen up' or something similar.

Do we really want to continue that behaviour? There are some polarising topics but why do people have to make personal attacks when someone doesn't have the same point of view?

Previously the attacks were personal (and still are) but now they've became vindictive and vengeful. What do people hope to achieve by doing that? The results can't be good.
