Mine, get the shot. You live alone in the bush and if you catch covid you may be in trouble and will need all the protection you can get. We have had all our shots (4) within the recommended time and, as I see it, apart from masks and isolation it is the only other form of protection.
Had our 4th shot a couple of months ago. My thinking is to get all the protection I can for now and if a better alternative is available in a few months I will have that as well.

i have had all 4 shots plus flu . managed to avoid covid for 2 years then bang , covid, flu , rsv one after the other, symptoms, i have had worse colds in the past so for going on 5 weeks now it has been like having an on going cold . the number of people running around positive to covid is quite high so it is only a matter of time before you come face to face with it, lot of people still dying but we don't seem to be as concerned as we where a year or two ago . i suppose when a new vaccine is available i will have that and hope the next time a new version of covid /flu comes around i get away as well as i did the last lot
some people i've spoken to said when it hit them it was rather quick, with out warning and it incapacitated them requiring hospitalization , which would mean, if your on your own and no help available even if you could call for help it could complicate things
My wife and I both had Covid a few months ago even though we take precautions. We have had our 3 jabs and were mostly over it in 3 days though we were a bit lethargic for a further week. It was worse than some flus we have had but not as bad as some other flus we have had.
We've had our 4th jab, we're still in self imposed semi- isolation including not seeing family. Wife has pre-existing immune system & respiratory condition.
Don't want to lose her, she would be a prime candidate for adding to the death toll.
I'm an ex- heavy smoker that gave up around 10 years ago.
50th wedding anniversary coming up in August. Whatever it takes to survive, until there's some sort of breakthrough. Life's still great doing our usual bush camping. We had our four jabs to hopefully lessen the effects of Covid should we be unlucky enough to catch it, not to get out circulating with other people. Life is precious, just ask the families of the 40 to 50 elderly people that die every day nation wide.

Just tested positive for covid three days ago.
Into day 4 of my isolation.
A few sniffles, scratchy throat and cough, few aches and pains. Nothing that can't be fixed with a couple of Panadol and a good shot of whiskey.
I also spend lots of time in the bush away from people.
I'm triple vaxxed but managed to get it in Alice Springs.
I thought I just had a slight cold, sniffles and a slightly sore throat. No aches or pain etc
I isolated as required but I'm now lethargic as f.
Not sure if it's just getting old or if it's a result of covid.
Many relos have had it and even the young ones are getting knocked about

Still testing positive but really nothing more than a cold for me.
Moderna is submitting clinical trial data to an academic journal and angling to deploy the updated booster for the northern hemisphere's autumn.
By then, BA.4 and BA.5 "will probably be a distant memory", but the new booster will cover variants that are yet to rear their head, Dr Burton said.
"Our aim as well though is to be able to support Australia and its winter and try, with TGA and ATAGI endorsement, to provide this candidate vaccine booster to Australia, even in August."

Wife and I just had covid, both of us have had the 4 shots and flu shots last covid one being in mid May with our flu shots.
Mid this month I came down with what I thought was flu as I had negative covid results from a hospital procedure and 2 home tests, was the most vicious flu I have experienced and when we tested at the covid testing station I tested positive. Must say it knocked me around badly, I was unable to get up from my lounge chair just no strength, ended up in hospital for a few hours while they tested me and slowed my heart rate.
Am good now, energy is back. I wonder if I hadn't had the covid shots how I would have fared
