Pastry Roll Maker

bbef8681a76be95c72943e756adae798.png

Brought one of these a couple of weeks ago for $10 from Woolies, started off with sausage rolls and apple rolls got a bit adventurous and made Asparagus in cheesy whit sauce.

Now I've got the bug trying new things, banana rolls,  leftover stew, home made chow mein, tonight I had a little bit of roast chicken, cut into small cubes mixed it with some chicken gravy salt and pepper to taste turned out very tasty.

Our freezer now has a packet of puff pastry and shortcrust pastry rolled sheets, you only need one sheet to make 4 pastries.

My next test will be to make a meat pie, but I am going to experiment with using shortcrust on the bottom and puff on the top.

This is fun but I did have one failure using frozen mixed berries, thawed them, mixed in a little icing sugar, during the cooking the juice from the berries bleed into the pastry making a big mess.

Update we had some very good beef sausages for lunch yesterday, I generally eat 2 and SHMBO has 1, that left 4 remaining uncooked.

Grabbed the pastry roll maker, cut the skins off the sausages, reshaped them into skinless snags, with a section of spring onion in the center of 2, the remaining 2 I used tasty cheese in the middle, a good grind of black pepper and they ready tobe assembled in the machine, one sheet of puff pastry makes 4 large pastrys, 12 miuntes latter 4 nice golden puff pastry parcels.

the wife had the 2 cheesy one, I had the onion ones bugger will have to do that again yummo

Sounds good gundog.

Cant go wrong for a $10 investment and it looks small enough to be easily carried in a van.
