Thanks for your kind thoughts Kevin, but I bought a car with a 2300kg rear axle ex-factory, so don't need any help. . Just wondering how a GVM upgrade negates the perceived need for a WDH, as rear axle carrying capacity is the biggest problem with most cars. One of the biggest wastes of money is a GVM upgrade on an LC200 that is used for towing, as the most popular upgrade lifts rear axle capacity from 1950kg to 2000kg. Why would you bother? GVM upgrade is good if that car is to be used for carrying heavier loads without a trailer, but when the car is used for towing a GVM upgrade does virtually nothing. When I regularly point this out to the many people I meet in my travels they just stare incredulously at me, and then at each other. "You're joking"? they ask, but sadly it is "No joke". Cheers
P.S Does the seller not have a 4.2 litre Patrol as his vehicle? If so, with a lightweight rear axle and reduction in GVM as towball weight increases, that car needs all the help it can get when towing. Perhaps he doesn't understand how a WDH works, and what it is designed to do? Just saying. Cheers.

The Seller understands rear axle weights, The Seller does understand how a wdh works and what it does. The Seller does have a Nissan Patrol, and The Sellers Nissan Patrol has heavy bull bar, heavy rear steel bar, heavy rear drawers, so with full fuel and two passengers was/is 3000kgs. The GVM of The Sellers vehicle is 3080 kgs so The Seller needed the GVM upgrade to 3505 kgs to be able to do what he wants to do with his vehicle and legally tow his caravan

Would the seller happen to know what the critical rear axle carrying capacity is now, with the 3505kg GVM upgrade? And does the seller have any knowledge of how Nissan's GVM reduces as towball weight increases? Just wondering. The seller has done all the right things to carry a heavy load in his car but I wonder does he know the answers to my two questions as his towing capacity is affected by same. What weight van is he hoping to tow? Cheers
I really couldnt be bothered. This is not a I know more than you contest. If you wish to pump out your chest and feel good about yourself, go right ahead.
Yes I know the answer to your questions and yes Im aware Nissan state extra loss of payload with heavy tow ball weights.
SHakey, A good price for new ones, but remember this is a grey nomads forum. Probably they are all waiting for Happy Hour.
Hope my attempt at humour did not offend.
Offend Shakey, hes made of stronger stuff, this I know as he frequents another forum that I use.
No offence taken my friend, I have broad shoulders. I cant believe the variance of prices for these things and Ive done my best, but I dont want to give them away, if you know what I mean.
I was told to buy them when I bought my caravan (my first ever) and everything Ive learnt from here and other forums, I find I dont need them, so doing my best to offload them. Well im finding that this is a task.
All good here, enjoy your day and a cold beer at happy hour

Perhaps people are slowly realising that a WDH generally is not much use?
Some years ago I mistakenly bought the same sized HR unit, but after conducting tests with it on my car I determined that I'd wasted my money so I gave it away to someone I don't like.
However, I wish you good luck with your sale. Cheers
Well, you stuffed that up for Shakey to sell his WDH now with such negative comments Yobbo. Not everyone is like you and don't believe in them. Some people do and use them successfully.
Best you keep your negative statements to elsewhere. Better still, to yourself.
I hope you sell it Shakey.

I hope you sell it as well Shakey
I was not going to comment on this post but I have to say that I totally agree with Doug.
This is not the first time that this has happened on this forum as far as I have observed and this action and his comments are just not acceptable in the For Sale Forum.
Yobarr,
I for one are sick and tired of your condescending, know it all comments
It has been reported that you have been banned from other forms for similar know it all antics.
I know that many forums do not permit your negative comments.
We can all see why, well at least most of us can.
It has been pointed out before that WDH systems are approved and conforming pieces of equipment. They are not illegal.
GVM and GCM upgrades on vehicles are also legal and approved. And so we go on.
Your interpretation of the use of approved vehicle modifications and the gross misunderstandings of their use by your personal ramblings mean nothing to so many on here.
However it hasnt ended there with legal modifications, in fact, you have done a complete back flip on the high and mighty belief of modifications on vehicles by openly suggesting in another topic today that removing a EGR valve on an engine which is designed by legislation and law to have one in place and operating, should be ignored on your say so and it should be removed. You could not even recognise the legal method to solve the problem
I am amazed that people have been removed permanently from this forum for jokes considered not suitable, for reasons that were generally not acceptable as suggested by another member but you remain on here and being permitted to offer such inaccurate dangerous information of which a lot of it could be questioned by manufacturers via site admin. Just wait until it is reported that you are responsible for loss of sales of equipment, that might smarten you up a bit Yobarr.
You remain on here even after you have had so many complaints by so many other members. Even today there are several complaints to you or about you.
In the years you have been on here you have made your point.
There is no need to show all how rude you are by attempting to divert the sale of legal equipment by another member for one reason and that is because you personally dont like that equipment.
This type of action should not be permitted on any forum.
You need help Yobarr ,
To anyone considering buying Shakeys equipment I urge you to take no notice of Yobar and his incoherent ramblings and form a decision based on advice and legal requirements and not som forum know it all.

Doug, your thoughts are noted, but the advert is 6 months old with no apparent result. My comments were simply a report on my experience with the exact same model of WDH device.
In an earlier post in this thread you will notice that I suggested that Michael keep the WDH to assist with his rear axle weights as he now has a very heavy TOW vehicle and is not necessarily concerned about the effects of towball weight, rather getting weight onto the car's front axle.. Hope this helps.
No malice was intended, and you will see that I wished him good luck with his sale. Cheers

Yes the advert is old, but still for sale. Thanks for your concern and comments Yobarr, Im not sure if it is hindering the sale, but probably not helping. Yes I have a heavy vehicle, which I believe is set up well and drives well, but Im not getting into that as I know you will criticise in one way or another.
You may be anti WDH, but I guarantee if I were to give it away, you and many others would put their hands up. I think I shall soon remove it and attempt to sell it elsewhere.
