Not sure where to place this post, as I use to recommend this four day festival 95% of the people had always been either retirement age, or older And there had never been any social problems, which I was aware of
Alas the 2022 Nambung Country Music Muster in WA, will most probably be the last one
The property where it was held, has been sold to a mining company
It is a pity as it was an easy drive for the city slickers, and the only large musical festival north of Perth
For the seven years it was running, all profits went to charities
This year the main beneficiary was the Make a Wish Foundation
There were over 700 RV's, and over 1,400 people In WA this is a fairly large number of RV's, which ranged from tents to fifth wheelers
From mid morning of the last day, there was a continual drizzle Compared to the rain problems in other states, the rain we had, was nothing to write home about
Only the true believers stayed to the very end
Hopefully there can be another similar festival in the west, sometime in the future
Time to hang up yer' boot scooting spurs partner.
Heard on ABC radio recently that the Country Music Festival phenomenon in the eastern states seems to be dying off with attendances well down & many being cancelled due to lack of numbers.
After Covid many attendees may have gone to the golden guitar in the sky?
Hopefully not.
