Aha Craig!! You wouldn't be referring to moi would you? I am  self confessed train buff and I do have a a layout in the bungalow. It's a great place to go when it's weather like we have been having of late.

I was lucky enough to work for BR as a fireman, hence the 65yr love affair with the steam locomotive. Without  these magnificent machines would there have been an industrial revolution? doubt it.

How's your cribbage going?

Regards Phil.

Hi Phil,

I would enjoy seeing some pics of your trains if that is possible.

Thanks

RE: A bloody long

Hi Ivan, I am at present adding to the main lines, and this will also involve messing around with all the sidings, stations, and more importantly the signalling. I am also looking at digitising at some juncture (money, money money!!)

Lots of wiring too. As you are probably aware most guys who play with model railways are never quite satisfied and often spend a lot of time reorganising the layout. In my case it is sometimes better to leave well alone methinks. It is a bit of a dogs breakfast in there at the moment but I will be happy to send you a pic or two when things are sorted.

Thanks for your interest.

Phil.

So it's an exact replica of British Rail then? :)

Mike you could well be right. The ASLEF union were quite militant in my days but this lot seem determined to wreck the system. Needless to say the union has no influence over my train driver who does what he wants when he wants when he wants to do it! (that does not include passing  a red signal, very dangerous)

Doug, why didn't I think of that, he would look good chuffing round a branchline with a couple of coaches.

Hi Phil,

It is a hobby mate so dont panic.

You will want to do any work at your leisure.

My interest is that I had a model railway up until the time I was married.

Unfortunately my responsibilities changed with children coming along as did moving house and room becoming a premium.

If it suits I would like to see some detail.

Take it easy.

Possum, are you referring to the SWMBO of the forum or my SWMBO? If it is the latter she has long since ceased to grace the man cave with her presence. Can't bear to look at what was once a very tidy bungalow.
