As the senior nun and head of the girls school it was Mother Bernadette's task once a year to give a talk to the girls who were shortly to leave school for the world of work.

As Mother Bernadette walked along the line of girls she touched each on the shoulder and asked "What do you wish to do when you leave here child?"

Jenny replied "I'm going to be a teacher Mother." "Excellent" replied Mother Bernadette.

Michelle replied "I want to be a nurse Mother." "A fine profession" replied Mother Bernadette.

Susan replied "I want to be a prostitute Mother." Mother Bernadette fainted!

Two minutes later when she regained consciousness she looked up at Susan and asked "*What* did you say child!?"

To which Susan replied "I said that I want to be a prostitute Mother."

"Oh sweet Jesus", replied Mother Bernadette, "Thank the good Lord for that! I thought you said you wanted to become a protestant."
