Got my first Christmas 2023 Mince pies last weekend, located next to Valentine chocolates and easter eggs in Woolworths (Dubbo).

I have now gone 5 days without the need to write the year.

Come to think about it, I have not used my cards yet. That scary.

I'm getting organized. Ha ha. Have bought 26 packs of napkins, 7 rolls of fancy Christmas ribbon, 2 packs of bonbons and some Christmas cards, all at greatly reduced prices. The napkins and the ribbon will be for hampers if I'm asked to make them again this year, otherwise I will give them to a charity for their hampers. The bonbons were an impulse buy that I couldn't resist at $1.50 per pack of 12. Luckily I have storage space. Am working on some bits and pieces for local schools for Mother's Day stalls at the moment. I enjoy doing it. Cheers.

Happy New Year to all. I hope 2023 is a better year for a lot of people out there.

2023, the year of the big clear out. Wife & I have spent the past 5 days sorting through years of gathered & inherited items in our double roller door shed.

We've been to the tip 4 times with full ute & trailer loads. We've managed to get some recycled but most will be going to landfill.

A lot of the stuff was passed on by our parents. We threw out 3 esky's, one of them was my wife's grand parents esky.

We sold our boat & off road camper trailer a while back. This left us with 2 family sized tents, camping chairs, tables, beds, sleeping bags, mattress's, gas stoves, gas lamps, cutlery, cutting boards, plates, cups, wine glasses, stubby holders etc.

Our parents things included a reel too reel projector, about 50 large film reels, a slide projector with 1,000's of slides & a folding screen on a tripod stand. So many memories of their around Australia trips towing a 12ft caravan with a Holden Commodore.

We managed to recycle 4 computer printers that we'd bought because a whole unit was cheaper to buy than new ink cartridges.

In the process we actually found things that we never knew we had.

We didn't want to go through a garage sale as we're still in semi Covid-19 ísolation.

It's a great feeling having a big throw out & cleanup. smilesmile

Been there done that many moons back now 86. If my late wife saw what went to the tip she would haunt me me for ever. I found Op shops were not interested and like you couldn't be bothered with garage sales etc.

Travel safe if that's your plans now.

Some real treasure amongst it all but these days no-one wants it.
No more boating or camper trailer trips, just 5 months of the year away bush camping in our rather ordinary caravan..
After 3 years of that we'll be enjoying day trips from home only, van be gone.

I wish that I was strong enough to do what you are doing.

Every wardrobe in our 5 bedroom home as well as my shed & workshop is full of stuff.  I just keep putting off a clean up.

I do the occasional clean out, but at the current clean-out rate I'm going to have to live another 100 years before the double garage can accept our two cars!  no Then we could start de-cluttering the house...

Apologies Dougwe. I seem to have sent your thread into a different direction than you intended.

The real question is, are they a slice of potato covered in crispy batter, or are they made from crappy reconstituted potato dust? We need a volunteer to do a Maccas run to verify. Im a bit busy today, Im studying my lawn growth patterns.smile

 Interesting, Rod!

Have you noticed any difference in growth speed between morning and afternoon growth periods?

Does the lawn grow more quickly on any particular day of the week?

Are you willing to share details of this research? Cheers

Its very complicated, I have a chair that I use to support myself, I often need cold refreshment, the study is coming along nicely but will require more perseverance. I have found after an afternoon of study, a nap helps.
