Toadzilla

Australia's 'Toadzilla': Record-breaking cane toad found in Queensland:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-64341453

A cane toad so giant wildlife officers thought it was fake has been found in a north Australian rainforest.

The "monster" specimen is six times bigger than the average toad, weighs 2.7kg, and could break a world record.

Dubbed "Toadzilla", the animal was quickly placed in a container and removed from the wild.

I just saw that toad on the news.

It was a giant. It didnt leave a lot of room in a ten litre bucket.

According to the news report it was euthanised and frozen. That must be for further study I guess.

I would hate to run over it in a small car.

A Victorian coastal community has been surprised after a large seal came ashore and smashed windows at the local petrol station before it was escorted back into the sea.

Vision circulating on social media showed what appeared to be an elephant seal making its way across roads at Point Lonsdale, south-east of Geelong.

There used to be one hanging around the fish cleaning facilities adjacent to the main wharf at Mallacoota. There was also a giant Manta Ray that used to feed on all the fish frames.

We were surprised to to see cane toads in Halls Creek & Purnululu NP in 2018. They are probably further south now.

The smaller ones were ok to chip with a 9 iron, I think you'd need a 2 wood to drive that big toad down the fairway.
