There's a new Japanese language film out called, Plan 75. The plot is based on a government program, named Plan 75, which requires people to be euthanized when the turn 75 years old, in order to control an aging population.
I believe, truly, truly believe, that such circumstances will eventually become reality; maybe in 50 years time, maybe in 75 years time, maybe in 100 years time but definitely, certainly, absolutely will eventuate.
I anticipate me, a Bunnings $7.50 charcoal BBQ and a *really* good single malt will do our thing sometime over the next ten years which will be before I turn 80.

I think a better idea would be to get rid of the "useless" people in the world, such as the "real housewives of ...", anyone who goes on a "reality" TV show, etc., etc. Anyone who reaches 75 has proven they are an asset and would probably be more useful to society than all the freeloader types.

In the future, war, climate and political agendas have robbed America of its resources. An agency called "the Humanity Bureau" ensures citizens are efficient. Inefficient citizens are deported to a city called New Eden [which is actually a death camp].

I agree with your sentiments and would put social "influencers" at the top of the list for mandatory death no matter their age!

Wishful thinking Derek, but I like your thoughts! People who are well capable of supporting themselves, but choose to be part of a long line of no-hopers on social welfare would be the first to go.
Social welfare is no longer considered a "helping hand" by grateful recipients, rather a lifestyle choice by bludgers.
And now there seems to be a push to give these no-hopers even more "pay". Been busy this week driving, but I seem to remember reading that these no-hopers, and their do-gooder mates are pushing for a "pay" rate of 95% of the aged pension.
What these clowns conveniently ignore is that the old-age pension is a well deserved support system for the thousands of Aussies who've worked hard and PAID TAX for decades. The modern social welfare bludger wouldn't even know how to spell "Tax", let alone undertake any activities where income Tax is likly to be payable. Cheers

this discussion about people paying tax an being entitled to the age pension has been done before, an if my memory serves correctly what was payed in tax does not cover what will be paid out in pension (we are living longer) what tax we pay today covers todays pension payout not into the future.
at some stage super will be classed as an asset and the OAP will morph into a welfare payment.
