China now has 3 million 5G base stations, 600,000 of which were built in the last 3 months. By comparison, the US has 500,000 and Australia has 4,000.

Instead of mobile phones or cards, Beijing residents can now wave their palm over a scanner to pay for goods and services. A nationwide roll-out of the system is underway. The system is reportedly 100% accurate and cannot be fooled by palms that do not 'contain' circulating blood, artificial palms or photos of palms. Furthermore, the system reportedly completely eliminates the risk of fraudulent EFTPOS payments.

This is despite the fact that China increased its renewable energy power generation by 32% during 2022. It is reported that Australia's greenhouse gas emissions decreased by .2% during the first quarter of 2023, .4% for the whole of 2022 and, by some but not all reports, 24% since 2005.

Sales of electric vehicles in China are forecast to reach 27 million units in 2023. By comparison, 1.5 million units are forecast for the 28 countries of the EU, 800,000 units in the US and 90,000 units in Australia.
