Good one Paul!  This one is very similar and reminds me of a time in the  70s when we had a 351 V8 F100 with a couch up against the headboard. With 4 fellas across the bench front seat and 3 more on the couch wed drive all over the place drinking boxes of VB and throwing the empties into the back of the wellside body!
Ah, the good old days!

Then the do-gooders arrived to protect us from ourselves, so only 3 in the front of the F100 (Only 3 seatbelts!) and none in the back. Just meant that we had to take more cars and split tge beers up!!

But apparently that was "safer".

In my day we unfortunately only had a 4 storey rocket with sharp edges everywhere & slide from only second level.

This is more fun.

7,8,9 u/13 footballers in the back of my Dad's Vauxhall ute to go to an away game. He was the only one with a canopy I think.

Similar thing when I was a youngster when the local mechanic would load half a dozen kids onto the open tray of his Morris Oxford ute to increase his allowed amount of seafood he could take.

We each got rewarded with an icecream as well as a day at the beach!

Mind you, in small country-towns in parts of NSW and WA I still see kids riding on the backs of utes, or indeed riding quad bikes to town, no helmet, no jacket, no gloves and no worries. And no bodies. Cheers.
