I'm a retired architectural model maker. Have seen endless architectural errors. Not sure which end of the perspective between mistakes & blatant lies they are on?
For example a basic "error", the sun was moved 40° for better shadow diagrams.
Boundary lengths were increase for more advantageous floor space ratios.
Neighbouring property height was increased by almost a metre on development application 1:200 scale model to make the site development look lower.
Multiple 3d artistic perspectives were at the wrong height. I redid them all & at far better quality.
Development was eventually reduced by 2 metres due to numerous "errors".
As for roofs, did a model for Pymont Point - Sydney, there was a major problem with the roof. Told the architects, basically because, do you want this roof or that roof.
2 years later happened to drive past the development. A massive 15m x 4m concrete triangle had been jack hammered off the building about 6 floors up.
Another model, in short said your roof doesn't work. 3 days later a new draftsman (at the very least).
I get satisfaction correcting architectural drawings which end up looking like a blood bath from red corrections.
Nothing surprises me. Feel vert sorry for the average person who wouldn't know where to start on a set of drawings. There are a lot of very clever discrepancies.
