I got some urgent prescriptions from my medical centre and they sent them through via SMS message. I them got them from the chemist using a bar code generated by the SMS. I didn't have to set anything up beforehand or during the chemist transaction.
I have had scripts sent to both my phone or to my favourite chemist. Most of my scripts are ordered after a no face-to-face Telehealth consultation. If its likely a medication will have to be ordered in, those scripts go straight to the chemist and I activate them by phone and have somone else pick them up for me. I have been doing this way of getting cripts filled for more than 4 years and did not have to make any pre arrangment with any chemist.

Didn't know this was available. Have signed up with the chemist and handed over the paper scripts.
The scripts can be tracked using an App, very handy.
All future prescriptions will be sent in digital format from the doctor.
Some maybe aware we are currently in Brisbane area, away from our home base of the Whitsundays. Any way my partner had to get some new scripts as 6 of them had no repeats left, how do we get new scripts.
There is a few ways to do it, first off we could find Dr who can provide the scripts, but that's a bit of a turkey shoot, auto wether they bulk bill or not, secondly you could try to get a telehealth appointment,or use a procedure that provides you a way to get them.
Our GP in the Whitsundays practice has a system with HotDoc where you can apply online, afterfinding how the system works, we sent a request online via Hotdoc listing the 6 scripts required, within 45 minutes the escripts were received. Some may find that this system may not suit themselves because there is a fee for this service.
The fee is $25, for which you can choose how to receive them via email, txt msg, post or direct to chemist,
In effect we submitted the request, received the escripts in 45 minutes, If it was urge we could have had the medication an wecould have had one, wie
Still trying to get it organised between doctor & chemist (for other half). Don't know what's wrong, will see specialist again in a week & will try to solve problem. We are trying to organise this so all the medication will be put in a Webster Pack.
Used the Webster Pack a couple of decades ago for my parents. It was brilliant.
