So it's been revealed that a retired polly has been in cohoots with a foreign power.

I hope he or her is named, shamed and his or her taxpayer pension is cancelled.

Fat chance that'll happen.  The politicians will close ranks, declare the whole thing top secret under some national security legislation and then bury it behind a multilayered wall of bureaucracy.

How do I know that? Because the Deputy PM stated today that he didn't know who it was.  As Defense minister, I suggest that he should have known before the ASIO chief announced it or made it his mission to find out after the ASIO chief announced it.  Neither appears to have occurred.

Or he just lied to the Australian population on prime time breakfast TV.

Unfortunately, the superannuation/pension fund that Politicians contribute to cannot be forfeited because of any perceived criminality.

the person making the statement should have kept his mouth shut or be prepared to back up his claim, name and shame! if not he should be the one to resign.

DB  you are right. The guy from ASIO owed it to the people of Australia to name.

I sort of think that this information will go a lot deeper than it appears on the surface.

May see many others involved...I repeat may see.

Forty years ago, a retired senior government employee (in another country) told me that he had been a CIA informant, and that the CIA had set him up in business. AFAIK, he was never exposed or charged (I didn't ask him), presumably because America was a vital, indispensable ally. If his treason had been made public, no doubt there would have been a massive diplomatic stink.

I understand that Turnbull's son has outed himself as the person who was approached by foreign agents, in this case Chinese, but it could just as easily be the CIA that is the foreign actor. Then what do we do?

The person is a traitor and should be tried as such and, if guilty, should get life.

I didn't think there were any prizes for guessing who it was.
Thought it rather obvious.
There was one in particular in the news a few years ago consorting and making regular trips to the one location. Surely it is the same one.
From the left obviously.......
A Dastardly affair.

https://thenightly.com.au/politics/fallen-senator-and-prominent-labor-powerbroker-sam-dastyari-denies-involvement-in-asio-spy-scandal-c-13777301

Mr Dutton said the person should be "outed and shamed" as there would continue to be "a cloud hanging above everybody else".

"If youre putting the detail out there as (Mr Burgess) has done, it is incumbent on him to give a little bit more detail, a little bit more of a hint on who it might be because I think its a little bit unfair on a lot of former MPs who are patriotic," Mr Dutton told 2GB radio on Thursday.

Yes, Mr Dutton, please insist in Parliament that our ASIO boss gives us just a "little hint", not the facts, not the truth, not the traitor's full identity, but just a little inkling, a clue, so that we may all continue to speculate and remain in the dark. Idiot.

Yes, you are right. Dutton is hardly the "goods". He is pretty useless.
The sad thing is there is so little quality on ALL sides that represent us.
It is a sad indictment on politics in this country, basically we are being ruled by a bunch of wombats.
Have a look at the disgraceful outburst by one of them in the senate last week that caused the senate to abandon the sitting.
Also the NSW police minister should be sacked for turning a blind eye to rural residents (little old ladies mainly) being terrorised by a bunch of kids with knives etc. Mainly because it is now politically incorrect to speak out against some segments of society.
We all now live in a sad and fragmented society, due only to the dingbats in control where the buck stops.
On all sides.

If you read Douglas Murray's book ' The Madness Of Crowds ' it will explain to you the mechanism that has been used by intellectual left professors in universities around the world to deconstruct traditional norms. The woke brigade are now filling the vacuum.

ps, at least google Douglas Murray, many of his interviews via video are on you tube at moment re Rushi Sinak and his failure to control the pro Palestinian hate speech mobs in London.

I think Mr Potato Heads outburst was pretty tricky. By demanding to know who the culprit was it casts suspicion onto to the other side whilst all the time the crook was in your own ranks. They all know who it is. I reckon I do too.

The Chinese media refer to Dutton as ' Potato Brother '

ps, Chris Bowen is also known as ' Casanova Bowen ' for screwing everything he touches.

Apparently not, otherwise there would be more talk (from the media in particular) about prosecuting said individual for espionage.

Pollies.

The untouchables. Busy little bees protecting their collective alimentary canals.

Where are the Federal Police in  this case? Gone to ground it would appear. The whole thing is a bloody disgrace.
