Have to smile when travelling

The sights you see when travelling can bring a smile to the dial.

Went north to Dubbo last weekend and being a long weekend thought there would be heaps on the Newell Hwy. But no, quiet as a mouse, and only 1 cop car, that was in Parkes, a bullwagon and pulled the bloke up behind me. Not much to see on that trip but today coming home south on same highway.   Seems every 2nd vehichle towing a caravan or camper trailer is a Dodge Ram or a Silverardo.

The thing that got me most today was the number of Rams towing camper trailers with their fully extended mirrors with a campervan less than the height of the rear of the Rams. Big Dumbo ears sticking out taking up nearly the full width of the lane. Look so funny when they pass or are sitting up your clacker.

On the other hand the number of old Falcons and Commodores towing smaller pop top vans or camper trailers with the ordinary usual Milenco mirrors look just the thing. Happy as pigs in s**t and you can nearly bet your bottom dollar that they own the whole setup and don't have a care in the world. There were a number heading north today

Morn'n SC,

You mentioned only 1 police car. In my travels around the Riverina area of NSW over the last week, including double points and fines period, I didn't see any police, not one, or even speed check points. The police must have been on holidays.

As for the 'dumbo ears'. My Clearviews are the best thing I ever fitted to the Collie. I love them. I have had people tell me they look like dumbo ears but I tell them "matches the dumbo driver". The thing I noticed the most and regular are the people towing vans or similar without tow mirrors at all.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there, mate.

Edit.............Forgot to mention, I didn't even see 'any' Police, in cars or on foot.

There is the possibility that a number of "unmarked" police cars saw many motorists but !
